It does seem rather calm. I have been looking at both teams stats and scorelines, and I think Fisher may be in for a tough day. However, I think when they play well they can beat anyone in the conference. At this point, I think AU is the best team so I am leaning toward them, but to me it all comes down to the Fisher Defense. If they can get stops, Fisher can absolutely win this thing.

As for Cortaca, I am actually hoping IC wins. It kills me to say it since most of my family went to Cortland, I live in Cortland, and my wife went to IC (never want to see her teams win as she never lets me hear the end of it). I just think Coach Welch deserves to win his last game.  The guy is a great coach and a class act.
GO FISHER!!!

IC totally wins Cortaca.

Dont be down on the Fisher D.
I think they come to play and contain AU.
Not stop mind you contain.
I look for fusco to have a monster game, and Coon to continue his tear!

82 cardinals

Fisher has 2 defensive linemen, 1 6'4" and the other 6'3" if the stay low on their drives through the line they would do much better but they stand up after their make first contact giving leverage to their offensive opponents and if they can't get to the QB they have to get their hands up. I've also noticed that they don't maintain their pass lanes giving the QB a chance to run out of the pocket. Doesn't the defensive coordinator see this to correct the problem. These 2 guys should be in the backfield of the offense on every play.

I think they line up too far off the ball...

It's baffling that the NT is a full yard off the ball just waiting for a guard/center double team to drive him back farther than he already is...

I think they want to stunt gaps with them being so far off but it's clearly not working as they're allowing around 150 yards on the ground...
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

Bombers are going to take care of business and send Welch out on top (in a metaphorical sense).

23-17 Ithaca.

wesleydad

Fisher/Alfred fans, Wesleydad is seriously thinking about climbing in the car early Saturday morning and heading to Saxon land to see the Fisher/Alfred clash.  It is about a 4.5 hour drive for me and the weather looks to be good.  Pretty easy drive up the NE extension to I86 and in to Alfred.  Traveled that way several times back in the day when Wesley played Brockport and Morrisville.  Nice roads and easy drive.  Would seem like a short drive compared to my trips to Mount Union.  Will see how Friday goes and how I am feeling, but there is a chance.  Who will be there?  How is the tailgating?

saxontad

Wesleydad.  I will be there.  Can't comment on tailgating.  I park behind Yunevich stadium.  If you make it, I sit in the purple seats, 50 yard line, row 13.  Come up and say hello.  Pep will be there also, leading the pep band.  What a great pleasure if you can make it!!!

Pep remembers meeting you at the AU-Salisbury State game back in 2012, a 24-21 loss for the Saxons, who gave up an early fumble for an SU scoop-and-run TD. AU battled back but came up short.

Tailgating is primarily behind McLane Center (the physical education complex) usually the back side of the parking lot along the creek. To get there, take a left at the traffic light (there's only one in Mayberry), cross the bridge and then another left. There will be event staff to park you....if the lot isn't full. If the lot is already full, continue up the hill and take a left. Park anywhere along that street on the left. If those are full, continue to the end of the street where there's a parking lot at the end of the street. (Great view of the field from up there, too). You can take the staircase down the hill....which puts you at the ticket booth on the right or go across the creek to the parking lot where the tailgaters are. Rules are alcohol is not permitted but from Pep's observation they are enforced only if there's trouble. Find the Dwyer tent and tell them you're a friend of Pep's and you'll get a good fill of great food and beverages.

An alternative to the tailgating is there will be food in the Connors Pavilion at the south end of the stadium. There's a buffet spread for Saxon Nation members...not sure but that Pep could get you in there before the game if you want.

Excited for you to make the trip to Mayberry! PM me if you want Pep's cell phone number.
