Fisher and Hartwick both losing leads to spoil an otherwise perfect (record wise) weekend for the E8.  Strong showing, lads.

This particular Fisher team looks like it'll get better as the year progresses.  I like that they play some quality games right off the bat before conference play.  Their only real chance of making the playoffs this year will likely be through the automatic qualifier anyway.  So get some experience young QB!

Bengals football and poker.  Great way to start the holiday weekend. Bengals didn't disappoint although the knock down drag it out 2nd half was a little but rough.  Fortunately Hoppy and co. come through in the clutch and run out the final 6:16 of the game.

Boyes Boys are 6-0 in their last 6 openers! Schedule makers give them next week also which should be good news for Stewart who didn't return after leaving in the 3rd quarter with an injury!

Wish poker went as well!

Go BENGALS!

Brockport beat up Hobart. Excellent win to start on the road against a ranked opponent. Brockport's QB looked better than Hobart's. Brockport's defense improved, Hobart's offense did not. Brockport didn't give up the big plays like last year. And Brockport had plenty of big plays vs Hobart's weak defense.
Viewer,

How much did you lose? Pep's pops, until a recent issue with his good eye, has perpetually played poker on Saturday nights. When Pep sees some of his poker pals on the street, Pep tells them to take it easy on Pops....he's playing with Pep's inheritance!

Did Bridgewater State's QB (Higgins) graduate? He gave us fits last year at AU. Good win for the Bengals...pair of 7s and 6 high beats a pair of 6s and 7 high.  ;)

On Saxon Warriors!

On Saxon Warriors!

Things went considerably better at Coyer field than Seneca Niagara poker room! Can't speak to about  QB for Bridgewater other than they played 2 of them (Dmalia and Marero)!

Maybe we will cross paths at a 2/4 table one day!

Go BENGALS!

So here we are week 2 and a battle of 0-1 teams matchup in Geneva.
I got to see the whole Fisher game and none of the Hobart game, but look for a good one this SatErday.
Many positives for Fisher, a few negatives and questions.
Michels is a talent albeit raw.  I think he will settle in nicely.
Again I ask Where was Coon?  No receptions- not on field- Injury?
Fisher special teams.......was not special.....
That has to be fixed FAST!  Just awful.

91, this game is interesting to me.  I watched both of them on Saturday and thought Fisher played better against W&J then Hobart did against Brockport.  The Hobart D was not very good and could have given up 50+ is Brockport did not make mistakes.  Not much to go to this weekend so I will likely catch this one to see who makes the changes necessary to avoid going 0 - 2.

it seems that Fisher was in position to win the game a few different times but it looked like two things happened:
the d ran out of gas
the running game never materialized.
What happened after that we all saw.

A young QB focusing on big plays..

I like a lot of what i saw and hope they rebound....as long as the fg unit stays on the sideline

agree, and in the end W&J is pretty good.  The defense will have to step it up a little, but if the offense limits mistakes Fisher will be ok.

W&J is good.
I think that going into this game anybody would have told you that it would be a good one.
It really was entertaining.
While I am not happy with the outcome as far as the score, it was a great opening game test for Fisher who has a difficult schedule to tackle in the coming weeks and months to come.
Regroup, learn from the experience and dont make the same mistakes twice.

I thought the first two missed field goals weren't all that bad.  Unfortunate, but not awful at the D3 level.  The third kick, when they used a different kicker...that was a pretty atrocious attempt.  Leaving 9 points off the board like that (and failing while going for 2 later in the game as a result) certainly proved to be the difference in the game.

Hartwick opened the season in the most Hartwickiest way.  Captain Billy Pine the QB is back I guess for a super senior year, throwing for 540 yards and 7 touchdowns. Returning 1st team all empire 8 wr khoree reed had 290 receiving yards. Did I mention they lost the game ?  48-47 to W Conn. Boltus is smiling somewhere.

Boltus is actually coaching down here in FL, at Occee HS, west of DT Orlando, I believe.
