Without the usual swagger from the Fisher faithful the E8 Board has lost much of it's entertainment value. I hope the 2017 Cardinals can turn it around.

The swagger is just brewing for future runs once they turn things around.  We'll be insufferable again, I assure you!

Good luck to the E8 teams today!  Fisher is taking on the bye this week.  Hoping we can get our first win there.

My prediction:

BYE- 31
SJF- 17
+k ...... self deprecating humor ....nice.....however, I actually enjoy the insufferable swagger

Apparently AU is set up on AOL for internet as their video streams are constantly buffering/cutting out...

The Saxons offense must be a nightmare to defend.

It's a hodgepodge of Single wing/pistol/power schemes. It's interesting to watch!

Can anyone find a win on Fisher's schedule from here on out?

I don't see one.

Honestly...maybe Morrisville , but it will be an upset

Hoping an 0-10 season will shake things up on East Ave.

Things have gotten stale there.

Congrats to Pep and his AU Saxons.  Makes my BENGALS 0 for whenever versus his boys. Can't say that I was shocked.  I guess that I should have been glad that the video feed broke down while score was 0-0.

Hoping for a better game next week

Go BENGALS!

Hartwick-Utica, as per usual with these teams, is nuts. Pios score on a busted play with 28 seconds left to take the lead, but here come the Hawks right back.

EDIT: Pine hits Reed in the numbers in the back of the end zone at 0:00, but he can't hold on to the football, Utica wins 28-24.

Go BENGALS!

There were only two possessions in the first quarter....AU marched down the field, Boston got sacked (15 yard loss) and then threw an INT at the Buff State 5. Hoppy then marches the Bengals to the red zone where, on the first play of the 2nd quarter, he throws an incomplete pass on 4th and 3. The first quarter was over by 1:25 p.m.....the fastest quarter Pep can remember.

Following a 3-and-out by AU, Hoppy marched his Bengals to the red zone again, only to be sacked on a 4th-and-7 at the AU 19. AU responded with a run-dominated attack, culminated by a Casey Boston 10-yard bullet pass to Gavidia in the end zone on 3rd-and-8 from the 10 with just 1:19 remaining in the half.
That was just enough time for Hoppy to march the Bengals down for a field goal to make it 7-3 at halftime.

On its initial possession of the second half, Pep believes it was a blitzing A.J. LiCata who deflected Hoppy's pass that went high into the air and was then caught by Nick Milgate....believe to be Hoppy's first pick of the season. It set the tone for the second half as AU defense held the Bengals to just 116 yards after the break. Casey Boston, meanwhile, seemed to become more comfortable running the AU hodgepodge offense (occassionally spelled by Fuentes running wildcat), getting a 4-yard TD run to start the fourth quarter, and a nice 24-yard TD pass to Gavidia, lofting it over the defender into Gavidia's outstretched arms.

Sorry about the video freezing. Pep has had trouble with his dial-up at times as well. Pep watched some of the replay last night...saw where it froze, but came back soon thereafter. AU has a good number of players from the Buffalo area so a lot of the Saxons were playing against Bengals whom they'd played in high school. Pep thought it was a well-played game by both teams. What started as a wet day turned out to be a perfect afternoon for football at Yunevich Stadium.

Seems like the Saxon defense is getting stronger and more cohesive each game while the offense, particularly the ground game, continues to improve as well. This is a young team with many sophomores and freshmen taking on key roles, while there's good senior leadership on both sides of the ball.

On Saxon Warriors!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Maybe the 0-10 season, or at least the possibility of an 0-10 season will wake some people up over there on East Ave...

believe me
I am not one to ever call for a shakeup in terms of personnel - but in this case- how does it improve?
Id like to hear that it was a perfect storm of issues that caused the turmoil and unrest in the program.
tell me that the QB position will be fixed next year.
tell me that the line play will drastically improve.
tell me that the d wont be a predictable sieve next year.
Tell me and ill believe you- but you better convince me because it has literally gotten that point.

So I'm really excited for a Brockport-Alfred showdown. Mainly because we're looking at a late-season showdown. If Alfred and Brockport are both 8-0 heading into the game, we could have two teams sitting around 10th in the poll and looking for a statement win.

I can't really tell what would be "better" for the conference in terms of the potential to be one of the top 4 teams. Brockport's 70+ points higher in the polls now, but I feel like the reason Alfred started the year where they did were legitimate questions about how they'd be without Johnson, who was a one-man band against Mount and a 2nd-team AA.

But the E8 is constantly being touted as one of the best conferences in D3 football, so I wonder if the Saxons followed up a 10-0 regular season with another 10-0 regular season, without Johnson, that there might be some kind of—I don't want to say course correction because that implies that the voters have been wrong—but just a reaffirmation of exactly how good they were/are.

I know its, early, but I am hoping one of those teams are undefeated and gets a chance at being the east most geographical #1.
