UMH-B is looking for an opponent for a 2018/2019 home and home series. Any other Upstate teams out there besides Brockport  wanna ride that pony ?

RPI was actually looking for a date next season.

So is Hobart. Need a game in Wk 5, I think.

Looks like UMHB was looking to host the 2018 game either 9/1 or 9/8. Should have put that in. And I didn't mean to slight SJF.

@d3jason

Even if you get rolled, I recommend the trip to UMHB for the BBQ alone.

Congratulations to Brockport's Jason Mangone...the AFCA D3 Coach of the Year, handed out yesterday at the national Coaches Convention in Charlotte NC.

Well deserved . Great season for Mangone and Brockport.

The schedules for next year are out any early thoughts? Brockport has 2 very legit non confernce games with Hobart and Ithaca. Alfred has 2 very soft games against thiel and u of r , a combined 3-17 last year.

bports

Brockport received some great news a couple weeks ago. Jake o' Conell received a red shirt from a previous year and will be back in the secondary for the Golden Eagles next year. Nothing like having a all american fall in your lap for another year. They are also putting the finishing touches on a Great recruiting class. 7 players from scholarship schools are transferring in per mangoines pod cast. I believe he said 2 of them are rb's to help Morrison. I have been looking up some of the recruits and it is pretty impressive.

D3viewer

Yeah, he said the other transfers were on the OL, which will be in need of some help since they graduate 4 of 5 starters.

Losing top OL can really affect a team (see Hobart from 2014 to 2015), so the quality of those transfers will play a big factor on how BP reloads. I still think they are the team to beat in the East, albeit Wesley and a couple of the usual suspects will once again be in the mix.

Brockport mens basketball made it to the NCAA D3 tourney (at large bid). Congrats to them, following on the heels of the football team.  The AD must be pleased.
Before anyone yells at me that Fisher did it before, congrats for them if they did it previously (but not this year). Naz beat Utica for the E8 title.

Viewer, Congrats on getting in the NCAAMBB ....unfortunately Hobart BB scheduled a game with Brockport...and lost...that probably got you in. Good luck in the tournament......we may need to put glue on the bottom of your football team's shoes in the opener this season.....a nice tuneup game with a local college for you guys ;)

Bartman, thanks for that win. I was actually surprised they got in. Their record was similar to last year when they didn't get in and they lost in the 1st round of SUNYACS (again) but somehow managed to get an at large bid. It seems much easier to get an at large NCAA hoops bid than a football one.

It seems that way for good reason -- nearly one-third of basketball bids are at-larges (21 of 64 this year) but just 16 percent of football bids are (5 of 32).

Interesting that you'd leave out the fact that Brockport has also scheduled St. Lawrence and Alfred has also scheduled Ithaca.

Seems like you're trying to make a statement here about Brockport scheduling "very legit" non-conference games and Alfred taking the "very illegitimate" non-conference route. But you conveniently omit Brockport's weakest non-conference opponent and omit Alfred's toughest non-conference opponent.

It is what it is. Sometimes you pick up a game in an open week according to who's available. AU has played Thiel going way back and regularly for a few years when the Saxons played in the PAC.
