Watch the transfer from U Albany at QB- kids highlights show a gunslinger and runner to boot.
The loss of Coon stings but be on the watch for Pat Galer.
Kid was out of Whitesboro here in town and was a beast in Section III- He played well last year as a freshman albeit sparingly and this could be a soph season to really watch.

I remember Pat Galer and his exploits in high school. I am also excited about LeMar Peters from CBA, Kevin Every Jr from Union Endicott and a few other folks that look good on film. Specifically Terry White from Florida, Zack Woodard, Levi Snyder and Vince Dimonte all looked good to me (albeit from their high school film). I am interested to see the QB situation as well. Max Bates also looks like a good athlete from the limited number of Freshman on the roster (transfer from Edinboro).
GO FISHER!!!

I too saw Pat in HS
Went to school with his dad- and Pat did damage against New Hartford---well that and all of Sec III

FA91, I was only able to catch a bit of the scrimmage. Didn't see much from either team honestly, as both defenses held the other offense in check. U of R was up 9-7 in the third when I had to skip out. U of R kicked a field goal and had a long touchdown run on a strange play. The RB went wide and was wrapped up long enough that I was looking at the yard marker, before I heard a ruckus and saw the back breaking down the sideline.

Fisher's TD came on a 45(ish) yard pass from the new QB transfer. I was impressed with The new QBs arm, but he took a lot of time in the pocket. Several plays were blown dead on a "sack" where a player got one hand on the QB. Same for U of R but their QB was more likely to break and run with the ball. Looks like there is some talent on offense, and Fisher did move the ball at times. They just didn't score.

Defensively Fisher looked bigger and faster than last year. Same issues as last year however. Several plays where they had great coverage and pursuit, but would leave their lanes and the QB would break for a big gain.

Some good, some bad from the scrimmage. Week one should be interesting.

GO FISHER!!!

St. John Fisher fans

Have watched you guys in the past as Mount Union has played you in regular season and the playoffs. Hope you get back to your old self, that is, winning games and making the playoffs. You've got a good school. Of course, being Catholic, I' a little biased. Bottom line, Go Cards! ☠🏈
I'm old! I get mixed up and I forget things! Go Everybody! 🏈 ☠

Cards- Thanks for the update! I hope that the score wasnt indicative of anything that is missing on the O side.
It may just be typical beginning of the year jitters.

Again, win or lose, change is sometimes inevitable. Vosburgh has been at Fisher a long time. Since the early 90's.  It has nothing to do sometimes with how good a coach or program he/they are. Last year I said any program who has a long time coach like Hobart, Buff st, SJF etc need to be ready for that change. Someone told me, "no, Cragg would be coaching a long time, and would not be going anywhere". And lo and behold here we are one year later, Cragg is no longer the head coach. I never said he would be fired )and he wasn't), I said when someone has coached that long be ready to move on.
And sometimes change can be good. Anything or anyone can get stagnant. Fisher may be at that point. The trend is to younger coaches. Look a t Brockport, Ithaca, now Hobart. All have had successful previous Head Coaches that were long tenured. Ithaca's and Brockport's moves have looked to be successful thus far. The jury is out on Hobart.
So, at Fisher, who knows what will happen, but the pressure to let someone else have chance may be upon them. A lot of these coches take Golden Parachutes in the athletic dept. So no matter how good Vosburgh and Fisher have been, after 25 years change may be inevitable. They are not immune to the forces of time and youth.

And, on the contrary, Pep is of the mind that had Alex Yunevich, after 36 seasons spanning five decades, chosen to hang around a few more seasons before packing up his golf bag and shuffling off to the Sunshine State in 1976, it would have been just fine.

There's like five other considerations in play w Cragg, high income dr wife, retiring AD and he may still become the next AD which is hardly a parachute when you have to manage a DI program, new president and now a s**tshow around that situation, Kevin getting stuffed armed by Endicott despite doing just fine there playin a. Very high level schedule for New England and being available, etc.  plus the IC HC was an assistant at Hopkins and has one year under his belt.  Seems good but one year hardly makes a trend.
