Spent a long time in dormancy this season! Hoping the Dragons can close it out this season and knock Port off their perch. If not....back to the cave until next season.

Welcome back, we needed someone to advocate to sway of fan votes. However, it appears that Cortland has been taking care of business without the advocacy. Big week for the Red Devils (I mean Dragons)  ;)

I'll probably stick around through next week too...then all bets are off!  Hoping the Dragons can pick apart the Brockport secondary.   Running on their box will be tough, but avoiding the run and not controlling the clock is a tough way to conduct business.  these guys have been waiting a year, and I know the staff is well prepared. We did it for 3 quarters last year....now we need a full 4!

"Running on their box will be tough"

I think the word tough is a little understated.
I think clearly that the E8 is Brockport then Cortland in terms of the 1-2, but that line of separation is wider than most think
Brockport wins by 14

For the few Fisher guys still on here---what happens this off season?
Listened to Coach Vos already talking about next year and the young players that he has coming up........
Have we not heard this before?  Trust the system?

The system is broken....can we please fix it

Cortland played a great first half last year. They also got monkey stomped in the 2nd half. Not quite sure where you are getting the 3 quarters from? Cortland has had issues with turnovers this year especially against Alfred and utica. I think they have 14 fumbles and 11 int on the season. Brockport D is way better then anything they have seen this year. No turnovers and they have a fighters chance if Brockport turns it over a few times. Otherwise I have 34-17 Brockport.

I stand corrected on the quarter count. I work with a few former Brockport players. Good week of bantering but staying within 20 points might be too generous.

Do they run the phys Ed program or are they there to take your job?

Your welcome IC fans.  I'll take my compensation in the form of a free turnover in the game today.

I respect Cortland they can put up points quickly. This game definitely makes me nervous.

Cold and windy in Brockport, with a peek of sun. We'll see how these passing games hold up in this wind.

Props to Cortland for fighting for 60 minutes. Brockport survived 5 turnovers and 2 blocked punts (1 returned for a td). Special teams almost cost Bport big time. The d was rock solid only giving up 12 first downs, 6 pts, and Cortland was 0-14 on 3rd down. Brockport had a few chances for a 2 score lead in the 4th qtr and Cortland D fought and scraped and gave the offense a chance. Brockport needs to get healthy and learn from some big mistakes today. Great effort Cortland !!

Wow, kudos to Fisher for coming out on top on the road at Alfred. I was just praising AU for being in the catbird seat for 2nd place in the E8, via their win over Cortland.  Fisher has now gifted  Cortland the 2nd spot with a 5-2 conf record, since Alfred has 3 conf losses (Cortland's conf play is finished).  Even if Morrisville (2 conf losses) beats Brockport next week, Cortland will still win 2nd place because of their 51-14 pounding of Mooville earlier.
That sets up the dreaded (im sure already discussed on the LL board) Cortaca Jug 2. Which apparently would not be played. I could be wrong on all this analysis.

Edit. Just saw Bartman's comment about winner of Cortaca (possibly) going to the dance. It may take care of itself.

I'd be stunned if it were played. What would the benefit be to the winner of the first game?

I don't see how Cortland would make it. That Alfred loss looks worse every week

Tough day for AUs QB/P...

1st he's backed up inside his own 10 and then shanks a punt 8 yards...

Fisher scores...

2nd he throws a pick six...

3rd he's once again backed up inside his own 10 and shanks a punt 7 yards...

Next play Fisher runs it in for 6...

Fishers much maligned Defense played pretty well today and they kept playing for field position that put AU in some really tough spots inside their own 10...

It's great not getting their doors blown off at least...

Oh and that sequence where the Fisher DB and AU OL were throwing some wild haymakers towards each other was honestly nice to see, yes he hit the QB out of bounds, but at least they showed some kind of emotion and fire out there on defense. The Defense has had two good games in a row and I don't think it's coincidence that it comes after starting Peters-Maddie-White on the DL.  All three are 1st/2nd year players so it's nice to see a solid base to build on...

Assuming they keep the same staff, the only thing that will save this Fisher team is a stud QB that transfers to the program.

If they don't get that it'll be a disaster to go into next year with this offense...
