Here's a nice highlight video of Alfred's 14-7 defeat of Salisbury State yesterday in Maryland:

Great way to wrap up the Saxon season. Congrats to Nas Smith on being named Bowl Game MVP.
AU had its bumps and bruises this season but finished strong. Bob Rankl now 40-16 over five years as head coach.

Congratulations, seniors, upon being the most successful class in AU football history, winning 35 games in four seasons.

On, Saxon Warriors!

Congrats on the win. Your guys definitely wanted it more.

Empire 8 All star team out.

Brockport nabs Offensive and Defensive Player of Year and Coaching Staff. They also had 7 first team defensive performers.

They got lazy this year and didn't put which year each player is, and what hometown/HS each player is from.

They may have "wanted it more" because they "needed it more." Having watched the archived webcast, it appeared to be the most cohesive game for the Saxons this year. AU seemed to take care of business on both sides of the ball. The AU defensive scheme worked like a charm in defending that triple option, holding SU to no rushing TDs. Offense mixed it up enough to keep the SU defense guessing. Just glad it was played in balmy southern Maryland else they'd need to run the snowplow on Merrill Field!

+k and congrats on a fine SU season...ever so close to the NJAC title!

Congrats to the E8 victors this past weekend. Still bitter that the NY Bowl wasn't played.

Channel 10 in Rochester is reporting this story

The two St. John Fisher College football players who admit to ripping down a Frederick Douglass statue appeared in court Monday morning.

John Boedicker, 20, and Charlie Milks, 21, pleaded not guilty to criminal mischief charges, but the students told News10NBC they were drunk when they took the statue on Tracy Street.

A witness who called 911 says the students were yelling racial slurs when they vandalized it. The suspects say that's not true and they're not racists.

They claim that they were heading home from the bar when they got a "bad idea" to take the statue.

The statue of Douglass had only been up for a month at the intersection of Tracy and Alexander streets. The goal is to have a new one up by the end of the week.

Both players are not listed on the teams roster. So they likely are dismissed from the team.
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

Same channel is reporting that both are now suspended from school.

As of September,  12 of 13 replicas of a famous monument to Douglass, created by sculptor and Alfred University alumna Olivia Kim, had been placed throughout the city. The final replica, which was scheduled to have been installed on Favor Street, instead, was used to replace the vandalized and stolen statue on Tracy Street at a ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 20.

Wow that's kind of a bombshell don't you think? Arguably the top QB in the nation not returning for his senior year.

Wow, just checked the Bport Football 2019 roster, he is not listed.  I can only assume he is transferring.  Staying in D3?  If a player moves from D3 to D1, he needs to sit out a season I believe.  I hope he is receiving some wise guidance....

He already did the "transfer down multiple levels" dance from Albany to Brockport. Is there really a chance he's going to do the "transfer back up to where I started" dance? I'd have to think he will be graduating and will be getting on with his life's work. they say he's a real smart kid, so maybe fulltime grad school?

Transferring to a better team in d3 perhaps?

Brockport seemed pretty darn good to me... albeit a slightly disappointing exit this postseason.
