Had 12 musicians and Pep (does not qualify as a musician) at BAND CAMP 2021 yesterday. Without the band director and several band members who elevated the Sound of the Saxons to new heights back in 2019, Pep was not sure what to expect of the 2021 rendition of the AU Pep Band. Thanks to the immense assistance from the AU Music Department and the apt leadership of Grad Student Director Kade McGarrity, Pep is confident that the Saxons will make some noise this season.

Pep,
Is the band going to be ready for the 9/3 opener against  my Statesmen? With the emotional support of the Alfred Pep Band , I hope the Statesmen can overcome this obvious Saxon advantage. Looking forward to Friday Night Lights in Mayberry.

Hartwick scrimmaged Union today. The score 35-0 Dutchmen. The Hawk's offense looked capable with a big, strong O-line and diverse play calling. QB #4 (a lefty) looked good but the Defense couldn't match Union's explosive and relentless offense. It looks like the Hawks will score but can they stop anybody? Typical for Hartwick.
Hence the term "Team Boltus"
:)

Week 3 and some great games- no chatter?

Bartman

fisheralum91,
I'm looking forward to the Hobart-Fisher game tomorrow. Some great games in the past and I suspect it will be a scrappy one tomorrow. I haven't really a clue about Fisher, but I know Hobart is taking the game VERY seriously. As far as Hobart , we have a strong defense , but I think Emett Forde our first team AA at LB is likely to be out from a shoulder injury last week. Emett is awesome and roams the line looking for a TFL or sack, but without him we are not as scary to the opposing QB. Our secondary has shown well against the first two opponents and the DLine is tough and improving, but it is not realistic that we get our third shutout. The Hobart offense is a run first(Tim #2 and Rayshawn#1 are shifty and fast and Rayshawn is from Rochester and will want to have a big game)  the OLine is good and still improving, and our QB, #5 Krewson, is better than his stats as there were 5 dropped passes last week while our receivers are all new starters this year.
Good luck to the E8 as we have 5 E8-LL matchups and I am predicting a 3-2 edge for the LL.

Bartman- the game looks to be a good one!
My concern on the Fisher side is if they can get the passing game in sync.
Beating Fram State and Buff state while struggling is one thing- but beating Hobart is completely different.
I look back to days past when I went back for a certain reunion and watched Fisher get torched by Hobart- good thing the beer was free and the weather was nice that day! :)

Cortland is putting a hurting on Buff State.  They're up 44-0 at the half.  Looks like they will be the team to beat in the E8 this year.

Hobart currently on top of Fisher 14-7 at the half.  It's been a chippy game, lots of personal fouls and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.  Hobart knocked out Fisher's QB on a late hit as he was sliding down to finish a run.  He's on crutches so I doubt he'll be playing in this game again.

Not sure if Cortland is good or TCNJ and Buff State are that bad! Anyway...I'll take it.
