I feel like brockport is missing from the regional rankings.

If the NCAA had followed their own criteria they would have ranked at least 8 teams from Region 2 based on the large number of Region 2 teams, 47. Brockport probably would be the eighth team. As it is Union is ranked instead likely because they have a win over RR'd Springfield. You should be happy Brockport still controls their own fate. If they beat Cortland and Alfred they get the AQ for the E8 and Cortland would need a win over Ithaca to be considered for a Poll C. As a Union fan I'm rooting for the Red Dragons to dismiss the Golden Eagles from the conversation.

Brockport is all fired up and Cortland knows this is a must win game for them. I like this game for so many reasons. I think this contest may provide us insight into a question so many of us have asked. Can Cortland defeat a quality opponent when it counts? We shall see. Hoping for an injury free competitive game. Best of luck to both teams on this E8 Championship game.

Does Cortland need motivation for this game?

The Red Dragons shouldn't need any extra motivation at all. But if I'm Coach Fitz I'm playing mind games with my team. Find something when there isn't anything there - especially when you haven't won "a big game" in a few years.

The Michael Jordan approach - find any excuse to get motivated for your opponent. An article about your opponent in 48 hours telling everyone how great their defense is exactly the type of stuff I'd be looking for.

Fran is the absolute best. I was working for the Dragon Chronicle (Student Newspaper) when he was hired as SID many moons ago.

Cortland is extremally lucky to have him. He made my job a lot easier.

Does anyone know the status of Utica's move out of D3? I have seen no updates. I wonder if they're going to play football in the E8 next season? The E8 has already added Hilbert and Alfred St.

Pep hasn't heard anything about Utica but it's my understanding that Hilbert moves into the E8 for 2024 while Alfred State joins in 2025.
Alfred will need to make room for the Hilbert addition, which jeopardizes its contracts with either Hobart and Ithaca, assuming the Landmark-Empire 8 arrangement continues with Juniata and Catholic visiting Alfred in 2024.

Does anyone know the status of Utica's move out of D3? I have seen no updates. I wonder if they're going to play football in the E8 next season? The E8 has already added Hilbert and Alfred St.

Utica has not yet announced any plans regarding a D2 move (D1 hockey) and I'm increasingly getting the feeling it's not happening and that they will be remaining in the E8 for the foreseeable future.
