Nothing better than seeing midwest d3 schools lose to NY teams.   Every year d3 midwest teams think good sports don't exist outside of their regional bubble.

Depends upon the sport. In D3 men's soccer, the shoe is on the other foot -- northeastern teams (NESCAC and Messiah, in particular) have traditionally dominated the sport, and northeastern fans have tended to disregard the midwestern teams.

For a number of years I was the main poster on the SUNYAC D3hoops board. I used to pick who would win all the games with final scores. Did a fairly good job and retired a few years ago as my health isn't good. But I had to come on this board and mention the prognostication of Bobby Comstock, who predicted a Cortland win by a score of 38-36.

Good play by play announcer and good picker. The D3 Football Gurus should give him a call and get his weekly picks.

Hello Greg,
Hope you are well. I see you are still trying to make posters see the other side of the coin. Keep up the good work. ;D

Great to hear from you again, Prestidigitator! Sorry to learn that you're not doing well these days. Miss seeing your posts on d3boards. Take care of yourself!

Congratulations to the Cortland Red Dragons for the best Stagg Bowl win I've ever seen. Also congratulations to all of the D3 Football athletes that had the privilege to play in that epic game....played their friggin hearts out and stepped up to play at their absolute best for one night. It was like a championship fight, and the athletic skills were on display for all to see.....incredible throws, ballet like catches, speed not usual to D3 and coaches that came to play and had the balls to let their teams play. Kudos to the NCC coach for going for 2 points at the end of the game and believing that his team would prevail and stay Champions.  The entire Cortland defense showed why Cortland are called the Dragons, as the entire defense swarmed for that one play and denied the ex Champs their moment. No one last night will get rich for that incredible game, neither school will be able to fund a new stadium, perhaps a few players will get looks by the NFL....but in the end, they played for the absolute love of the game...both teams contributed to THE PERFECT GAME . Thank you North Central and Cortland Football teams..

I haven't been on much in the last several years but it's great to see you on here. Sorry to read about health issues, but I used to love being on those SUNYAC boards. A great day for SUNY pride.

That was a tremendous experience! All I could think of was the quote Tom Cruise repeated in Oblivion...How can a man die better, then facing fearful odd, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his gods.  To see these guys go toe to toe and slay the Monster, with so many former players showing up to back them! It was truly an awesome event. From the time the Dragons got off the bus and made the walk to the locker rooms, you could see they weren't tourists.  There was a level of focus that was definitely noticeable! I have no idea of this program will ever achieve this again....but if anyone else's does....I hope it's as amazing for you as it was for us Red Dragons!  Had the chance to meet Pat and his crew after the game at Mac and Bobs. Was truly awesome!
