Cortland seems to be playing solid defense, with the exception of the game against Susquehanna! Offensively they've been producing the same results since Coach Fitz arrived. Big points! Could all change come next year! Who knows! All the more reason to soak it all in!

Hobart played Alfred and beat them with a "muffed punt" 10-7 in a sloppy first game. I was impressed with the Offensive Line and the trio of Kelly at QB, Freeman at RB and Anderson at WR( best receiver and athlete I've seen all year). They don't have alot of depth but they do have some decent talent. I wouldn't go out drinking the night before you play them.

Ahhh! If we got caught out downtown during the week, we were "Tar and Feathered" before team. Partying during the week was a non negotiable...but that was in the mid-late 90s. There was always 1-2 young guys who tested the waters and they never won that gamble! I'd hope they have a similar standard as Cortland was a big party campus! Maybe I'll go out drinking Friday night as it will have no impact on Saturdays results!

Strongly encouraged.

I've got the video on Alfred's page

Cortland a tad slow to get cookin' but takes 31-10 gap to halftime at Alfred. Tis 7-3 RDragons through one period but quickly into second frame Z. Boyes and J. AlphnoStjohn hook up on 62 yd. TD throw. AphonoStjohn with two TD snags, E. Gallo two TD runs. Wind up opening half with 27 yd. FG. Dragons seemingly content to operate on the ground till half-closing maneuvers. Gallo 16 lugs for 103 yds. Boyes 11x18, 191 yds. passing. Saxon qb C. Kelly 9x12, 89 yds. Total yards: CSt 333, Alfs 151

Cortland posts 59-17 final at Alfred by piling up 581 yards -- 300 passing from Z. Boyes who completes 20x29 and two TDs, both to J. AlphonoStjohn (4 catches, 128 yds). Nine RDragons haul in aerials, freshmen N. Jordan and J. Klein for TDs.Soph E. Gallo (23x173) scores four on the ground for 16 on the season. Corts with 34 first downs, 9x11 third down efficiency.
Boyes directs three third period possessions to touchdowns in Cortland 52-17 runaway entering final quarter. E. Gallo with two scoring runs in the third.
And on it goes ....59-17 early in the fourth.
    Saxons M. Freeman 16x109 rushing, qb C. Kelly 13x27, 119 yds, 1 TD

As for Cortland's next two foes ......St. John Fisher 56, Hartwick 0
    Also, Brockport 51, Hilbert 0
    Morrisville 28, Utica 26

IC798891

Hartwick-Fisher is embarrassingly bad..49-0 midway through the third doesn't even start to tell the story.

First downs: Fisher 27, Hartwick 0
Yards: Fisher 375, Hartwick 13

Hartwick has never been great, but this is non-competitive football against a team with a 35-0 and 55-0 loss on their schedule.

What was with Alfred wearing Guardian Caps all game? That's like wearing a Diaper! Somethings are not to be worn in public! Does the athletic department have a policy?

Hilbert looking to get their first win vs these lowly Hawks!

Up 15-13 with 2 minutes left in the 1st half!

FisherFaithful03

Cortland up 7-0 after 3 plays as Alfonso StJohn takes a reverse in from midfield...

Wasn't even touched...

Honestly I hope Fitz puts up 70 on Vos...

FisherFaithful03

Fisher puts a decent driver together. Gets to 4th and 3 inside Cortland's 30 yard line...

Attempts a 45 yard FG and it's wide and short and barely got 10 feet off the ground...

7-0 Dragons

FisherFaithful03

Cortland takes their time this time with a nice methodical driver with a good mix of run/pass. A few LAZERS from Boyes too.

Gallo punches it in for 7 and it's 14-0 Cortland.

Fisher then goes 3 and out.

Cortland Ball again with a minute left in the 1st.

Cortland efficiently takes 28-0 halftime homefield lead over spunky St. John Fisher. RDragons score TDs on every possession with J. AlphonoStjohn's 44 yd run opening the scoring. Fisher drive follows to CSt 28 but strangely dismisses 4th-and-2 and attempts 45 yd. FG ........
Corts with 250-96 yard advantage though SJF with 17:42 to 12:18 possession edge.Fisher with good late second quarter drive till INT sets up hosts TD seconds from intermission.
AlphonoStjohn also snags TD pass while E. Gallo and Z. Boyes rush for six-pointers. Boyes 10x13 for 153 yds, 1 TD passing
