Bomber27,
Thanks buddy I appreciate the wish on the list.  Hopefully Santa delivers.  I have gone above the Clause and wrote to Mother Nature for you.  I requested a snow dusting to head your way.  Cross your fingers.

My Bomber Wish List for 2006:

Health for the Bombers.  Unfortunately much of 2005 ended up being "what could have been" if Ithaca were able to field a healthy team.  Safties, Running Backs, Fullback, Linebackers, Wide Receivers, Offensive and Defensive Lineman... you name 'em, they were hurt this year.  It seemed like the QB position was the only one that had stability throughout the year. Here's to a healthy 2006!

The continuation of the Ithaca/Fisher rivalry.  Two years, two overtimes.  A heated week on Post Patterns.  Competition for many of the same recruits. This has become my favorite game of the year, and I hope to see that continue.

To continue the improvement of atmosphere in Butterfield.  It's not Notre Dame, but the atmosphere and excitement of Butterfield has sure come a long way in the past five or six years.  In 1999 often you could hear a pin drop. Both the Fisher and Alfred games were electric at times, and a ton of fun for everyone involved.  Here's hoping for another good year for the Booga Man, the guy who sounds the horn man, Young Booga Boy, the First Down Club, Peggy, excited and vocal parents, teachers, and students.

A home playoff game, which I haven't seen in my six years in Ithaca.  Travelling to all parts of the state and adjacent states can be fun, but it'd sure be nice to tailgate in the Friendly Confines of Smiddy Hall parking lot.

Speaking of playoffs, a rematch with Union is on  the wish list.  It's easy to forget that the Bombers led most of that game.  Without a goofy kickoff, a questionable decision or two, who knows what might of been.  It would sure be nice to get another shot at them.

Killer Kam moves back to OL.  A cool of a novelty it is to have a 380 pound defensive lineman, the pass protection he could provide at O-Tackle could be pretty superb.

A pass rush.  One game this year in the NFL, the Bears had something like nine sacks, all from their lineman! That kind of pressure without sending a blitz would be pretty neat.

A Cortland victory.  Once again, Cortland wins at Butterfield, their fans attack the field, and Ithaca fans don't fall prey to the temptation to go kick them in the head.  Good karma should prevail next year.

The cool Ithaca helmet to reappear.  Whoever drew that helmet on the field this year, did a darn good job. Kudos!

Another term for this year's Bomber mascot.  He was the best Bomber I've seen in years.  Four more years!

A good start to the Juvan era.  As has been mentioned on here before, I think we started to take Felicetti for granted.  The kid could sure play, and it'll be hard to step into those shoes.  That being said, the kid from Dobbs Ferry appears to be no slouch.  Here's hoping the playcalling can take advantage of his speed, as well as his good arm.

And finally, another good year here on d3.com.  This place has really blossomed over the last few years. From the many Bomber faithful, Mr. Booga who hasn't figured out how to post without starting a new topic, good folks from other E8 teams, the Liberty League folk, idiot players who post about themselves, Pat telling people to check the FAQ page, this place has become a staple in my day to day routine.  Lets hope it continues in the new year. Go Bombers!
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Congrats to bomber Glen Caruso for getting the Macalester job.  Glen was an academic all-american Center in the bombers in the early-mid 1990s.  Hes a good man and a good coach.  Best wishes Glen.

Good for Glen.  He's a good guy.  Glad to see former Bombers doing well.

BTW, who is on the schedule next year?

Are we keeping Buff State and Brockport?

Tecmobowler: I agree wholeheartedly about the atmosphere at Butterfield for the Alfred game (I can imagine the Fisher game was equally electric although cowbells can't compare to trumpets). It was pure delight to see the Saxons actually leading the Bombers at Butterfield. I was pleased, also, with the AU attendance and spirit. This 2005 Saxon squad has created a stir on campus, something that's been in the works for a long time....several years of sowing spirit seeds by the AUPepBand along, of course, with Coach Dave Murray building the program.

AUPepBand Wish List:

1. Another Brenton Brady, a class individual, a great team captain, and a character who fit AU's quirky "Only in Alfred" way of life.

2. Another Andrew Schwartz, a fanatical Saxon supporter and a nasty trombone. AUPepBand will miss him--even his maniacal, non-sensical outbursts at the zebras.

3. Continued improvement of AU's offense, which has, in the past two years, become less predictable, more exciting, and pretty darn productive.

4. Take both IC and SJF at Merrill Field. No small task. But hey, this is a wish list.

5. Another class of 75 recruits/transfers. If we don't get 'em, they'll probably be lining up against us. Keep building AU's depth.

6. Another great year of posting, getting acquainted with E8 foes (friends). It was great meeting Bomber posters at Butterfield. Will have the welcome mat out at Merrill in '06.

It's a short list. Never was one for long Christmas lists. Saxons have won 17 of 22 in past two years. They're on the track....keep plugging along and avoid the snub in '06.

Merry Christmas and God bless us, one and all!

Brockports on the schedule next season, i just checked the Brockport site to look at a masters program and took a gander at the athletic web page.  They have their schedule set up for next season and posted.

Its kind of interesting, they play 3 Empire 8 teams in 3 straight games.  They have IC as their Homecoming game on Sept. 30th, then host the Cards the following week.  Then out of nowhere they schedule Springfield on Oct 14th in Springfield, could end up being an interesting match up.

Tecmo,
             Nice summation & list.
The IC experience has been pretty awesome....d3 helps, but my hat really goes off to the "First Down Club"...yeah Coach Welch, Raymond, Angeliccho, with all the recruiting & maintaining the highest standards....the players, hangin' tough...always grabbin' another guy to "fill-in"....reloading again!
Alums stayin' hot and posting....(bomber 27...enjoy Napa)....great group of parents.....we'll miss seniors moving on-seats are always reserved for a visit....

Great rivalries.....SJF...AU...and "cortland......cortland......you _____! Taste it!

Chuck and the Mrs.....booga on!

All of that makes a great atmosphere..but nobody gets EVERYBODY riled up like the "FDC"....it has been a  pleasure meeting so many of you guys...and ladies..
enjoy the holidays and I can't wait to see your numbers swell again next year!

Merry Christmas to all of the posters here...and a safe and Happy New Year!

Been away from posting a bit, but wondering if anyone else has seen final AFCA Division III Football Poll?

Absolutely ludicrous...After Top 25 (which rightfully includes Union, Hobart, Ithaca)...AFCA has Fisher with 36 votes, Cortland 33.......Alfred gets 2 votes and Rensselaer gets 1 vote!!

Alfred (9-2) and 13-7 winner over Fisher (8-3)
RPI (8-2) and 26-22 winner over Fisher (8-3)

Kind of like voting Whitewater #1 in the nation after the Raiders of Mount Union defeated them, 35-28.

D3football.com Top 25 poll much closer to reality! Kudos to the gurus of D3football.com!

Ouch! Are you talking about Brenton Brady? I bet some Fisher players are still hurting from some of those hits put on by the 2004 E8 POY during the 2005 game at Growney. But..you are very kind to agree.

We are all undefeated again!

It figures UNION would loose right about UNION 82's 200th post.

Will have to get back on for some "stimulating" conversation.

Looks like we are aiming for Jan23 for a free sample.  if so, Yellowhat 17 will be placed on a jersey.
