The fact the foster is gone should be a good sign, the fisher offensive fell apart in the last two games due to his play calling.

National ranking in DIII, James Reile was ranked  6th  in kickoff return, 8th all purpose yards, 11th in scoring, 32nd  in rushing. Keep in mind that the 1235  yard total in 11 games played . Reile was the starting running back in 8 of them, while Robinson started the first four.

I'm sorry, I was wrong. Reile started as running back in 6 game,

I think most players would rank the playoffs #1 and Corland #2.

Maybe this is true, I still don't truly understand how college football works in the northeast despite four years up there and now three as a booster.  Down here, in college football's heartland, rivalries sell tickets and bring in the booster bucks.  People here want to see their team beat their rival, the National Championship is nice icing on the cake.  That is why the only people bitching about the BCS are in Oregon or some place (I suppose also at that little TV station in Bristol Connecticut.)

As much as I would love to beat Cortland everytime IC plays them for all eternity, if given a choice vs beating Cortland or being National Champions, I would take the National Champs choice every time.

But can't we have our cake, and eat it too?

Jose,

Good points in regards to the rivalries.  Also, I do remember the Buff St vs IC rivalry in the 90's as one of my neighbors, who was years ahead of me, went to Buff and our families always feuded during that week in the fall.  However, I think that St. John Fisher vs Ithaca will be a rivalry that should last in the E8. I dont know if Fisher will feel it as more of a rivalry than Alfred but, it will be a good one. AUpepband can give some insight on that one.

I think if you were to take a pole of the campus at Ithaca people would say Cortland vs. Ithaca is "the best game ever!" And, the pole would show 85% to 15%.  Yet, if you pole the fans in the F Lot outside Smiddy hall it would be split about which is a better GAME.  Such implications are riding on the current era of E8 football with this Fisher/IC game the game itself is better.

College football is about the traditions of Rivalries and I hope that Fish. Vs Ithaca becomes one of those great Rivalries.  If the Administration at Ithaca had its way  Cortaca would be eliminated. We discuss this every year come Cortaca time. But, if Fish vs Ithaca continues to build in rivalry status perhaps the crowd and the FDC will grow at that home game.  It would be cool to get 5000 people wearing yellow t-shirts and assorted hats in Butterfield next year when the Bombers host the Cardinals.

I hope the Bombers put up their season preview soon!
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

As for "rivalry" I think Fisher-Alfred has the makin's of a rivalry but it falls short in that the teams have met on the gridiron on only eight occasions to date, with AU holding a 5-3 series lead. But were you to ask Fisher fans who they hate the most....after last year, I'd bet AU would be your top vote-getter.

Ironically, I would say AU doesn't have a natural rival like the IC-Cortland deal. The closest thing to a "rivalry" for AU is probably Hobart. That series goes W A Y back. Long ago, AU's rival was the UB Bulls, but we all know now that they'd much rather lose to a Central Michigan than a L'l Alf. More prestige in flying out-of-state for a shellacking than motoring to Mayberry only to return to the big city with bull tails between your legs.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Reile was as we like to call him the Reile deal last year. having him and Robie spliting carries this should be a dangerous offenese the only thing I'm worried about is who's going to take Noah's catches

Come on Football!  It seems like it's been so long..........aaaaaaaaagh!  Good Luck to everyone in the E8... It always seems to be the most entertaining Conference for me to follow.

Seems to me that Robinson is a guy that gets better with every carry.  He was a real workhorse before getting hurt.  I almost hope he and Reile split the carries.  Maybe that will keep either one of them from getting into the flow of the game and make them easier to limit.  Er, would you agree that he is better as he gets more touches?
