NewSchoolAU19:   I knew Chaz wasn't back last year but there was some talk about him returning this year. Sounds like we got a good recruit in to help with that position.  Do you want to elaborate on the transfers?

I think you should stick to trying to get a gf and stop talking about football.  I think most players would rank the playoffs #1 and Corland #2.

Reile was as we like to call him the Reile deal last year. having him and Robie spliting carries this should be a dangerous offenese the only thing I'm worried about is who's going to take Noah's catches

Seems to me that Robinson is a guy that gets better with every carry.  He was a real workhorse before getting hurt.  I almost hope he and Reile split the carries.  Maybe that will keep either one of them from getting into the flow of the game and make them easier to limit.  Er, would you agree that he is better as he gets more touches?
Last year Robinson avg. 5.7 yds , Reile avg. 6.1 yds . Both backs have proven to be great receivers coming out of the backfield. Fisher can mix it up with both these guys in the backfield, Occasionally  with one of them in the slot back position. I believe this would open up the other receivers

You are right on Jose, he does seem to get stonger as the game goes on-I'm sure the coaches will find ways to keep them both busy

FYI on Ferguson, the new kicker that joined IC from the soccer team.  Last year he punted a ball the length of the soccer field and scored.  that is about 120 yards of leg. He also kicked a goal kick 85 yards. Now, that is with a soccer ball but, still, you can't teach power.

I agree that both backs are good.  I am saying that sometimes, having two good backs can be worse than having one good back.  A lot of running backs, Robinson included, need to handle the ball to be effective.  The less they handle the ball, the less of a groove they get in.  I was saying earlier that Reille's success last fall must make the Fisher coaches feel like he needs some touches.  I think if he takes enough touches away from Robinson, both could suffer.  A good example would be Ronnie Brown taking touches away from Cadillac Williams at Auburn.  Look how much better Cadillac was when he got the ball every play last season.

Jose, I agree completely, maybe #20 will get some of his touches in the passing game, he is a great reciever and Noah's numbers have to go somewhere

Carrying the ball 35 times a game usually results in Injuries. Most of your top college programs will run they best backs an avg. of 25 times

Playing football results in injuries.  Robinson had 10 carries when he injured his shoulder last fall.

Also, when he was second in the nation in rushing in 2004 he carried in 386 times in 12 games which comes out to 32.2 carries per game.  Is Fisher not a top college program under your logic?

When you run the ball that much your going to get bang up. Injuries will carry over into the next game and may alternate your running style.

Wow,
Had to catch up on my reading boys!

Only thing I can add to the rivalry thing is that the Fisher IC matchup is quickly becoming the circled game on the sched.  Doesnt mean a rivalry YET, but has become the E8 championship game before the season commences.

Will give ya this though, it is too soon to call this a true rivalry.  Need to give it time to blossom, hell Fisher wasnt even a blip on the map until recent (5) years.

I still recall the days of CLUB football at fisher----

Sheesh 15th reunion this fall---damn time flies!

Fisher/Ithaca has certainly gotten big in a hurry.  Between the recruiting battle, two overtime games in two years, and now an automatic bid, I think some savvy Bomber fans may consider it bigger than the Jug Game.

A quick look at the Ithaca roster shows that Killer Kam Kegerator Muhammed is no longer with the team.

Also, Ryan Terlecki has moved to LB... I assume that gives Blumenauer and Stephens the start at the safties position, with Napoleone locking up one of the CB roles.

Terlecki is also a safety guys.....healthy group is breeding some nice competition back there....!

It is comforting to think that we have enough healthy DBs to have some competition in the secondary.  We had so many injuries last year it seemed like Coach Welch was going to have to use Ernie* at safety (he does everything else around the stadium, no reason he couldn't do that too).

*Point of Clarification:  Last time I mentioned Ernie on these boards, I got an angry email from a third string TE at Fisher, whose name happened to be Ernie, wondering why I was posting about him.  In the event he, or anyone else named Ernie, still read these boards, I am referring to the newly minted Assistant Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports at Ithaca College, Ernie McClatchie.  He is probably the hardest working person in college sports, and maybe on the entire planet.  Anyone that has been around the IC Athletic Department realizes how many different things he does and gets my joke about the safeties.

Nice shout out to Ernie, the Bombers secret weapon!!!! Any report on the first week of camp????? Mr. Napoleon....anybody close to South Hill????

Good luck in camp Boys, especially Blue Shirts....I'd like to see one Mama Celeste or some other d-line  listed as All Americans this year...Go Bombers!!!!!

It just occurred to me that the Bombers are going to be pretty deep this year.  Losing Felicetti, Eposito and the LBs seems to cloud the fact that we bring a ton of guys back.  Four OL starters return and that cabal of running backs...that has to be good.  I also didn't realize that we did not graduate our leading receiver (Gordon led the club with 35 catches).  The fact that we have a senior TE means good things too (Welch has had some success with them over the years).

When I first looked at the schedule I also missed that we have an off week.  First time since '91 (National Title) we have gotten a week off midseason.  Thank god too since it follows a brutal road stretch that includes a trek to the Artic Circle (that's where Norwich is...right?).
