Some grandma's who are willing to do good luck "bomber shots"  at the tailgates.

As I remember it, the player on her button blocked a punt and made a huge open field hit on kickoff coverage.

Mr. Napoleone, after watching some random special teamer become an all american we need you to rally the remaining football moms in attendance for a large Bomber shot...it can only help the cause...

I look forward to watching them be tackled to the ground for losses less than a month from now.

Here's the entire write up....

By Patrick Coleman, USA TODAY

Defending champion: Mount Union (Ohio) won its seventh title in 10 seasons and its eighth championship overall, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater 35-28. It was the first time the Purple Raiders won with anything other than a perfect record, going 14-1 after a midseason loss to conference rival Ohio Northern. Nate Kmic, who rushed for 1,040 yards in the playoffs, returns for his sophomore year, while the quarterback-receiver combo of Mike Jorris and Pierre Garcon should keep the ball moving. Defensive end Justen Stickley returns for a fifth year.

2006 contenders: Wisconsin-Whitewater loses little from its Stagg Bowl team, with Division III single-season rushing leader Justin Beaver, speedy wideout Derek Stanley and quarterback Justin Jacobs returning. Max Sakellaris and Brady Ramseier, each All-America selections in 2005, return to anchor the line for coach Bob Berezowitz, who announced he'll retire at the end of the season. ... Rowan (N.J.) held Mount Union to its lowest output of the playoffs in a 19-7 national semifinal loss. Quarterback Mike Orihel, who missed the second half of the season with a broken wrist, returns. ... 2004 champion Linfield (Ore.) loses record-setting quarterback Brett Elliott and coach Jay Locey, now offensive coordinator at Oregon State, but hopes to do more than just extend its record streak of 50 winning seasons. A Sept. 16 game at Hardin-Simmons (Texas) will test the Wildcats early. ... Delaware Valley (Pa.), lost coach G.A. Mangus to Middle Tennessee State, where he is now offensive coordinator. The Aggies also lost their top running back, quarterback and center but return almost everyone else. Defensive coordinator Jim Clements took over as head coach.

Story lines: Birmingham-Southern (Ala.) announced it was moving from Division I to Division III and would add football for the 2007 season. Joey Jones, an area high school coach, was hired as head coach. ... DePauw (Ind.) has its fourth coach in four years after the departure of Tim Rogers. Matt Walker, a six-year assistant and head baseball coach, takes the reins. ... Colorado College announced plans to join the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, beginning in 2007. ... Todd Glaser took over as coach at Wisconsin-Eau Claire, his alma mater. He was the 2004 Ohio Athletic Conference coach of the year at Marietta (Ohio). ... 2004 All-Americans DE Jason Trusnik of Ohio Northern and RB Mark Robinson of St. John Fisher (N.Y.) return after missing most of 2005 to injury.

What they're playing for: NCAA championship at Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, Dec. 16 in Salem, Va.

Players to watch

Wisconsin-Whitewater RB Justin Beaver (2,420 rushing yards, 24 TDs in 2005)

Mount Union RB Nate Kmic (playoff rushing totals by game: 157, 361, 177, 160, 185)

Mount Union WR Pierre Garcon (1,196 yards, 16 TDs in 12 games, including two in the Stagg Bowl)

Wesley (Del.) DE Bryan Robinson (251/2 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, 11 passes broken up, seven forced fumbles)

Union (N.Y.) RB Tom Arcidiacono (162.8 rushing yards per game, 20 TDs)

Hardin-Simmons WR/CB Will Galusha (after 10 career INTs, will play receiver and nickel back for senior season)

Capital (Ohio) S Kyle Hausler (58 solo tackles, six INTs in 2005, 23 career INTs)

St. John Fisher RBs Mark Robinson and James Reile (combined for 1,894 yards in '05; Robinson returns after injury kept him to six games)

I believe Reile ran for about 60 yards on twenty carries last year.  I could live with that output again.

Geez, who wrote that crap? :)

That was my last act at USA Today, by the way. Was a fun decade. Unfortunately I worked there for 12 years. :)

No scrimmage news?

I will let Tecmo speak....he again will prove to be much more astute & objective...

Scrimmage was all Bombers.....turnovers/take aways from the Defense.......killed the Cornell drives.

We gave away a lot of size, but the guys up front did very well given the size difference..

Lb's were very active.....whole defense looked quick....

Offense....hmmmmm..."Air Welch"........enough said.....all three qb's looked good....Juvan has an amazing strong arm...

First Down Club....hangin at the scrimmage....
"We bust ours so we can beat yours..."

Jonny Utah

Heres the biased version...........
