John McGraw

Actually, I'm not affiliated with Cortland State anymore. Earlier this month, the radio rights for Cortland football went to WXHC out of Homer from WKRT. I'll spare the gritty details, sufficed to say, I am no longer the "Voice of Cortland State." The Cortland games will all be online this year with the new station's streaming capabilities.

As for me, I'm obviously still with D3sports.com. You can take me away from the team, but no one can take away my love of Division III athletics.  I'll be around this fall with possibly a few Game of the Week's from the East region. Off-hand, I know I'll be at the Ithaca-Fisher game in late September, maybe or maybe not broadcasting.

Congrats to Adam on the Around the East column. I think his paper's name is actually just The Saratogian. At least that's the web site that I used over the summer for looking for Saratoga Phillies scores. I'm sure he'll do a great job. Always nice to have another Empire 8 alum to work with.

Technically there is already a D3Sports guy from the E8.  John McGraw is an IC alum but, given his current occupation (Voice of Cortland radio) we have to wonder if he has wandered from the green pastures. Seriously though, I am wondering if "Adam Samrov" is an alias for Budcrew08?

Holy Cow, it is BudCrew08!

"Ithaca won its fourth Empire 8 title in as many years and compiled a record of 8-3."
-Ithaca's 2006 Season Preview on D3football.com

I'm surprised no Fisher posters haven't noticed this yet and called it to our attention. It is semantically correct, however, as Ithaca and Fisher were co-champions that year with Fisher receiving the auto bid via the tiebreaker.

It is not only semantically correct, it is just plain correct.  That is how co-champions work.  Didn't you say you were in law school?  I guess you can still rip people for semantics until you actually earn your license?

Jose, my only point was that a couple years ago a few (former) Fisher posters absolutely refused to recognize that the conference championship was split. I understand that's how co-champions work. Just pointing it out again because sometimes people forget that Ithaca had a piece of it that year. Myself included.

Re: Bud Crew. I had an idea that he was affiliated with d3football.com. He simply disappeared which wasn't like him. Even during the basketball regular season he was never gone for more than a day or two. Then, all of a sudden...he was gone. I also remember him saying he had a journalism background. He had some repoire with Pat, as well.

Congrats, budcrew.

As great as an offer of wings and beers sounds, I cannot be bought... Although it definitely could help lol.... All joking aside, I am going to try and be as fair and as balanced as I can for all teams and leagues, not just the E8 or LL.

Oh, "fair and balanced?" Just like Fox News, right?

Congrats again, Budcrew. I'm sure you'll be as objective as possible. Though if Utica ever knocked off Ithaca, I wonder what the tone of that article would be. Perhaps an exclamation point to end every sentence?!

Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Fisher seems to get a lot of love from Pat Coleman these days... they had the nice little article about the O-line last year.  They get a couple of picks (Lang & Robinson) for pre-season all-Americans this year.  Now Robinson is the cover boy for the homepage.

Pat, have you been eating at Wegmans and living in Pittsford this off-season?

Seems like an awful amount of love for a team that crumbled at the end of last year doesn't it?

Can't wait till 9/23...
