OK - A little behind here, but wanted to add.

Buff State surprised me in that the Field looked like a small high School field.  I was there in '01 so this was on the decline, after seeing them as a quality team for some time, I expected better facilities.

As was already pointed out, their sucess against the Bombers over the years could usually be attributed to the post-Cortaca let down.

As for Ithaca, campus and architecture....I agree that the building don't do much (I think they built the campus so fast in the '60's that there was little choice) but the layout and view really make it.  What I can't believe about the size is that now "campus" goes from the expanded circles all the way to Boothroyd and beyond once the new facility is completed.  WOW

You know what else stinks about Buff State...

They have no bathrooms for tailgaters... and they don't allow glass bottles.  Myself and Tecmo were locked out of about 12 buildings last year when we tried to find a pit stop.

Go Bombers

What place allows glass bottles?

Jose Q,

I love the new photo you have.

That's why we have Booga Water now.  It prevents the Booga Man from having a sore throat.

Eh Bombers!

Early prediction:  Bombers 66 Hartwick 17

3 TD's For Baez/Bias and Beaiz
3 TD's For Donovan
1 TD for Joe N.
1 TD for Hogan
1 TD for Juvon on a 99 yard run... to set a new schoool record
9 XP's and a 42 yard field goal into the wind for Kitty... (which should make rowdy and dubbz fall in love w/ him again)

Go Bombers

I understand the glass bottles part... esp. in Buffalo.  I've never had a problem w/ glass bottles anywhere else though... Except for Brockport... where the University Police come by every 17 seconds and tell people to dump out their drinks.  Clearly B-port would be the worst school for tailgating in NYS.

fisheralum91

Havent most places gone dry anyway?
I remember when you could drink in the dorms and on campus- but heard that it was abolished at some point...

Any Hartwick Posters on here....just curious as to what has changed with the new D-Coordinator....

I have to think that this weekend, weather and all may present the opportunity for some HUGE passing numbers given the two QB's.....saw too much of Boltus last year on their rug...and Juvan is only getting better each week....

If he finds one of our wideouts that he feels like he can just chuck it to down field to the numbers are going to really pile up this year....

Junior FDC members lead the tailgating charge!!!

Oh, God. Don't do it. Please, no Hartwick posters. You guys on the basketball boards will know what I'm talking about. The one H-wick poster was the most irrational lunatic you will ever meet. I wish I could have kept track of all the assanine comments he made over there. Oh, I hope MadHawk is gone forever. If you make him come back, Mr. N, don't say you weren't warned.
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

I say 2 TDs for Baez
2 TDs for Donovan
2 TDs for Oertel (looks like we have the next Connor Mulkeen in the making)
1 TD For Joe N.
1 TD For Joe N.'s little sister
1 TD For Ron Amato (because he is such a bad @ss that he can score from the bleachers without pads)
1 TD For Matt Tosh (who never quite completed that punt return record against Utica in BudCrew's darkest hour).
1 TD For Bomber27 (because, if we are spreading the love, why not take care of the posters)

I am not adding up how many points that gives IC but, I think it will equal out to more than the 3 Hartwick gets when they bring their former LG/K out of retirement to right a past wrong (the guy had to rush to get his shoe off becaue 'Wick was out of timeouts, he was their starting LG, he was also their starting barefoot kicker, and they were down 1 with time running out--- he missed).

***Stat of the game: Hartwick has never made a PAT at Butterfield Stadium*** (Probably hard to recruit kickers when one of them was stabbed by a soccer player a while back).

fisheralum91

totally agree w/bomber 15-
no need for the wick posters!

Sounds like we DO NOT want to call out anybody from Wick......

How has Crea been racking up so many yards with an arm like Boltus back there???

Anybody have a "sack" prediction for this week? Front seven and an occassional safety have been wreaking havoc on everybody so far....

Celeste steps it up this week...watch out!

Man....NEVER made a PAT???  NEVER????  Is that possible?

Hartwick throws the ball a good amount of time. And if you look at their stats from the Endicott game, the only real running back was Lindy Crea. He's a solid talent but with all of the other great backs in the conference, he gets lost in the shuffle. They really missed him a few years ago when he was out for the season. His numbers last year were pretty good and with a better team, I'd wager that they'd be even better. Though, he wouldn't be running as much.

Boltus is a good quarterback. He transferred to 'Wick last year from UAlbany. He threw for a boat load of yards last year against Ithaca (353yds, 4TD), but most of it came after the game was out of reach. His top receiver, Matt Willis, had 10 catches for 199. Same thing though, most of the numbers were after Ithaca had built a large lead. Boltus is back, Willis isn't.

I'd venture to guess Hartwick may be a little more one-dimensional until they can find a go-to receiver. Crea was their top receiver against Endicott so that doesn't help the Hawks much.

Hartwick's defense gave up 28 to Endicott. I can't imagine anything much better against Ithaca. They do have a new defensive coordinator but their defense still needs lots of work.

All of that spells a lopsided win for the Bombers. But, don't be surprised if Hartwick rolls up the points late. Probably around the same result as last year, maybe a little more lopsided given Hartwick's history at Butterfield.

Ithaca always seems to play well on Homecoming weekend too. Anyone have favorite Homecoming moments?

Jonny Utah

Hartwick posters absoutly disapear when they dont win.....You wont see any this year unless they win a big game.

(Same as Brockport fans also)

pg04

Hey I resent that, I've been here the last few seasons when the port has not made it to the playoffs and lost to all the good teams...

you know me, it would be nice to have a favorite kicker once again.
Couple things:
1.  SOMEONE STOLE MY #7 WHITE BOMBER JERSEY FROM SATURDAYS GAME... if you see it, know who has it, plEEASSE get it back to me.  that thing cost me $10 bucks!

2.  Sounds like a great weather day (not so much bomber weather come saturday.  be sure to look good for the cameras, so we can get more picture on the back of the IC Quarterly (check out the new issue), the Home page @ ithaca.edu, and other promo material.  (i'll be at a wedding.. and with no way to listen in to the bombers in the north country)

3. viper. icon. awesome.  please make that into a t-shirt.

4. go bombers.  yes lineback, theres more shirts to be bought, ask tecmo or MIOH.
