John McGraw

Jeez, I'm offline for a week with connection problems and I miss 30 or so pages or posts. The only Division III football I was able to see this past weekend was the three minutes or so of highlights on News 10 Now around 6:00 pm. I don't know if I could've taken that another week. At least this week I can listen to ICB or the Fisher students on TEAMLINE.

Answers to questions from awhile ago about Fisher. Kevin Eick, who was listed as a quarterback last year, has been converted into a wide receiver. I think he may be better suited for that with his large frame. He doesn't have a catch yet so who knows if he's gotten into a game was a wideout or not.

I think Eick moving to receiver shows that the coaches have confidence in Rob Kramer and that he is a capable quarterback. He showed that against Mt. Ida last week. Obviously it wasn't the greatest challenge he could've faced, but he still was solid. He was a stud in high school at Oneida. His younger brother is the quarterback there now and is doing very well. He was definitely a Section III all-star and more than likely all-state as a senior.

Jose, great post on blocking the 3-4 defense. As a former high school offensive linemen, I always dreaded the 3-4. It's much much easier having a tackle or an end in front of you as opposed to open space. I would say to keep an eye on Fisher's guards. More than likely, they'll be the ones taking on the IC linebackers. The linebackers will need to be quick to the gap because a 3-4 does create openings on the line that Robinson and Reile will look to slice through.

I think the game will be won in the trenches. Whichever team can control the run has the best shot to win the game.

Could some of the older guys help me out--
dont mean to pick on ya but Bob, Er...Help an old alum "get it".

91....

The First Down Club really has become the "twelfth man" at Butterfield....

they chant.....they energize.....they distract....they let you know who's "house" you are in.....

They will be easy to identify at Growney.....in the parking lot, visitors stands, you name it....
these guys are genuine fans....many alumni with a pretty impressive group of leaders....

I get it, because it makes Butterfield an even more special place to watch the bombers play..

or it may be close if we don't handle playing on the road well.

I remember starting the last game (2 years ago) here a little "flat."

I have to think that those players that were here two years ago feel like they have to "make things right."

so, i have  yet to post a prediction on the game.  and i will not  now.  But, discussion about what will make the game go one way or the other makes me want to post.

here's my opinion...

Since both teams are so good at the run.  Fisher bases their offense more on it than IC does. I feel anyways.  correct me if i am wrong.  So, here is a thought from left field.  What will change the game will be INT's.  the cornerbacks will decide the game.  IC's core of CBs is very solid. Fishers i know nothign about.  if the D-liines hold the run for either team it will result in long 3rd downs.  Which means, for the most part, a passing situation.  Therefore, welcome to the game CB's.  Whoever wins the turnover battle and third down conversion battle wins the game.  With Juvan at the IC helm I see the Bombers pulling away with the W.

Go Bombers!

I think OT is only fitting this year!!!

dubbz,
They seem pretty athletic....Stepnick has made an impact since his freshman year....12 career picks, maybe 13....

Single coverage is NOT an option.....ask the hawks!!!

Cmon Bob, that was kinda funny!

Im not a big proponent of the NCAA OT, but it is a hell of a lot better than the NFL.

I think they need to back it up to the 40 to make it truer to the game.

theicdubbz

If OT goes the way it did last year that wouldl be cool....  I remember thinking DONT TRIP!!!

not only do we chant... we drink Bomber shots!
Go Bombers!

fisheralum91

I just think it would compliment the overall feel of the game.

Jose....great post on the 3-4.  For it to work you also need a stud nose.  How is the Bombers nose?  FIshers line is HUGE but they are not fast enough to get to those LB's.  No overtime....Bombers by 17

ICemanJK

One very important chant techmo forgot to mention was the "WHERE'S HE GOING??" chant.  If the run of the opposing team is stuffed or tackled for a loss, one of our FCDers asks "WHERE'S HE GOING??". Followed by a thunderous "NOWHERE".  With all this talk about the run, I can only hope this cheer will be heard many times on Saturday.

GO BOMBERS

All hail the Booga
