Jose....great post on the 3-4.  For it to work you also need a stud nose.  How is the Bombers nose?  FIshers line is HUGE but they are not fast enough to get to those LB's.  No overtime....Bombers by 17

Phil Byers is mammoth on the nose.  He was hurt all last year but is back.  He is big and athletic for his size.  I think he was a state champion wrestler in high school.  Definitely a force to be reckoned with, and not a player to be solo blocked.

ICemanJK

Phil lived down the hall from me freshman year.  He is by no means a small man.

I should add that, though I wasn't in the meeting rooms, having a healthy Byers on the roster had to be among the chief motivating factors for the switch to the 3-4

ICemanJK

Is it plausable to think that Byers won't be in for the whole game? And if/when he comes out, will the Bomber D stick with the 3-4?  I don't know who the back up for Byers is.
All hail the Booga

I know his backup isn't Kam the Kegerator.  But yes, IC stays in the 3-4 all game.  Not sure if Byers comes out at all.  He appears to be in pretty good shape.

Fisher boys...where you at?  You wanted a debate, I gave it to you.

Also, anyone on here know something more about the 3-4 that can either agree with or contradict the points I made?  I am little more than a football fan and do not pretend to be well versed in football strategy.

Still here Jose-
Told ya back a few pages ago - the only knowledge of the team is what i read here.

The QB sit for Fisher seems odd....

Byers was alternating series' early in the year, but played the whole game against Hartwick (until it got out of hand in the 4th).
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

In like 1998 or 99 the Denver Broncos had the smallest line in the NFL and they were not too shabby.  I know it was one of those years because my football coach hung an article about it on my locker.

jose and icdubbz,

i think you both have valid points.  jose the 3-4 is definately tough to block for the OL.  LB's are quicker than DL and sometimes its hard to get a block on them.  ICdubbz i also think you are right about the DB's being a factor.  Fisher has stepnick and miranto at the corners, both very good players (especially stepnick).  how are the IC DB's??

The 3-4 will be tough to block against.  Though my experience playing college ball i can tell you that the 3-4 can also be hurt by the running game.  If you have big, tall athletic lineman it can pose a problem for the 3-4.  IF the OL can simply get in the way of the LB it is tough to make tackles at or near the line of scrimmage.  results in 4-5 yard runs all day long.  That is Fisher's game.

Just my thoughts though.  Can't wait till saturday.

Also i can tell you guys that Kramer is a very good QB.  He originally went to King's College in PA but transferred to Fisher before last season.  He has a cannon for an arm.  One of the best quarterbacks in NYS in highschool.  Threw a ton of TD passes.  BUT he has yet to be tested like you guys have stated.  I believe that he is going to have a big season now that he is starting.  If Fisher WR's can make big plays this is a very dangerous offensive team.  Also don't be surprised to see Reile at the slot WR position.  Excellent speed and great hands, just a playmaker.  Go Fisher!!

Kramer is now the QB?
What happened?

Nice videos lineback. You can only see Max Power for like 2/3 of a frame, but I know you'll do better next time.

Any Fisher guys? How much is admittance?

Man, Jose, you can cut the false modesty with a knife. Are you a narcissist or something???

No false modesty.  I meant that.  My knowledge of any defense outside Monte Kiffin's Tampa 2 is weak at best.

P.S. I think the response to the girl that asked me if I was a narccisist while at the game should come straight from The Dude: "Who the F*** is that guy?"

maxpower

I thought yours was pretty good: "Okay, go away now," with a brisk "shooing" hand motion.

fisheralum91,

kramer is now the starting QB according to the statistics.  He was 11 for 16 against Mt. Ida with a couple of TD's.  should be a great test for him this weekend.  he is very talented so it should be fun to watch.
