Good win for SJF. Nice Job.

FYI-
Norwich beat NY Maritime(some school I had never heard of until today) 41-14

FLA10

Brockport RB, Garet Lynch, 26 carries for 265, two TD's......Bombers better be ready for a heavy dose of that.

xdragon58

I still cant believe what I am reading about IC.....losing to them hurts.......now i would like to know, where we think they will end up in the polls, as well as Cortland? anyone have any 2 cents on this?
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

Yeah and I am sure Coach Salomone will pound the rock as Fisher did after seeing what happened in this weeks game between the bombers and cardinals.

As for Cortland, I believe they and Fisher should be the top ranked teams that are in upstate New York.

cstate19

Fisher will leapfrog us somehow and ithaca will fall big........all 3 will be ranked around 20-22....i think that IC will rebound and beat port but it will be close and Ic better get ready for that back........i think he got around 100 against last years #2 defense against the run......

OriginalUpstate, allow me to respectfully disagree with you as you were bashing the Fisher coaches (who now look like geniuses) throughout the entire first half. The game plan was obvious. Ithaca was loading the box against Robinson. They wanted to get the 8th defender out of the box. How do you do that? You try to get your vertical passing game going. This is where the pass sets up run, and not the other way around. Fisher NEVER had any intention of "abandoning" the running game. It was all a ploy. You should know this.

I also agree with the sentiment that if IC goes in to half up 21-0, that pretty much takes Fisher's RB's out of the game. I think the theme for IC in this game has to be one of missed opportunities and learning how to deliver the knockout punch when you have your opponent on the ropes like they had Fisher in the first half.

Its not so much bashing the coaches, but to start the game w/ only 1 carry on the first two series and only 5 carries for Robby in a half is kinda strange considering you run for almost 350 a game with out using the option or wishbone.  This may just be me being a former lineman who always loved running the ball down peoples throat, but to give Robby 5 carries in a half when your trying to beat the 11th ranked team in the country is just crazy.  I already said I love the coaches and what they've done and what they're doing for the program but I just didnt get the game plan to start.

This team has probably the best O-line in the East and to not let them set the tone for the game is unfair to them as a unit.  Pound the two 1,000yd runners and then go after them w/ the bootlegs and play actions.

After the half, they got back to doing what they did all season.  Pound the ball and then go to the air to put it away.

Ithaca does not drop out of the top 25...Cortland goes up to the top 20.  But then again i dont decide the polls.

Just got back from Rochester, I'll split my thoughts into a few different posts:

#1- CONGRATS TO FISHER

All week I had heard rumors that the Fish were having a rough week of practices.  Certainly the first half didn't do much to clear that up.  That being said, they bounced back in the second half, and finished the game with a resounding victory on the scoreboard.  The Ithaca fans have told everyone who will listen for the last three years that Fisher is an extremely talented squad.  While a handful of individuals here and there will make excuses, Superman (while being a bit rude about it) is right.  Fisher clearly won this game, and deserves to be the team to beat in the Empire 8 for the rest of this season.

Robinson is a stud.  He has breakaway speed, good vision, and the uncanny knack of falling forward 3-4 yards after contact.  I wonder how long Fisher will alternate drives with him.  They are at their best with #25 in the backfield.

Lang is everywhere.  Great linebacker, with a huge motor.

Their offensive line is solid.

While their coaches may suggest they didn't make adjustments, they obviously did something right at halftime.

Again, congrats to Fisher on a great win.

xdragon, did you see the game?  I have heard  that the port O-Line is massive.  Also, that there is another being looked at by the scouts.  Supposed to by better than Josh Warner.

By the way where did the Alfred plea for respect go?  They've disappeared today!

#2- ITHACA MUST BOUNCE BACK

After the first half, I was saying to myself... maybe the Ithaca defense of the past has returned, and I still believe that maybe it has.  The points came in such a whirlwind in the third quarter, that I think everyone it the stadium had to be shocked.  Juvan and the WR's looked sharp in the first half... Donavan was finding huge holes... the offense was moving at will.  Then, things fell apart quicker than you could say "we got a first down."  There's no time for pouting, as Ithaca heads to Brockport next week, which is always a brutal place to play.

Being at Brockport is definitely a serious factor in the game.  Ithaca has actually not won there since the late 90's (regular season games, of course....)

#3-  FISHER'S FACILITIES ARE LACKING

Weird, weird things thoday at Fisher.  Keystone cops made people poor out beer in cups, and told people they couldn't grill in the parking lot.  Strange indeed.

For a beautiful facility, their bathrooms consist of two port-o-potties.  Strange.

There are only two small food stands, one of which we were told is for "Fisher fans only".  Weird.

And again, the shameful visitor bleachers need to be fixed.  Fans from two teams, sitting on the same side is never, ever good.  People get territorial, Mom's take offense at everything, undisciplined players yell things at fans, fans yell things at players... it's just rough.  I would start a fund to put in some real bleachers.
