This is much different posting this year than last year.  Last ear was harsh words and finger pointing but I am glad we are all getting along.  From what I hear, SJF made great changes at half time and rolled it down our throats.  Congrats to you.  Maybe a playoff meeting is in order.

By the way where did the Alfred plea for respect go?  They've disappeared today!

Just catching up on the IC-Fisher posts after the six-hour trip from Springfield back to Alfred. Guess the Alfred people "disappeared today" because they were on the road supporting their Saxons, who never quit in a 41-34 loss to a very good Pride team. Their QB is Sharp(e). Wow! Saxon D contains him in a pile near the first down marker, but he slips out and runs for TDs! We have the Pride backed up with a 3rd and 20 and he runs for 21....and next play runs 50 yards for TD! Ouch.

But talk about pride. AUPepBand is proud of our Saxons, who kept fighting right to the end! The offense really stepped up today and was virtually unstoppable. Unfortunately, the Pride was equally unstoppable...definitely to be reckoned with. While it would have been nice for the refs to drop their flags on the holds, illegal blocks (throwing oneself onto the back of a Saxon?) and offsides on kickoffs, AUPepBand is no longer surprised by inept zebras and, instead, applauds the AU team for continuing to fight "o'er every adversity."

AUPepBand thanks all the AU fans who purchased "Pep Bandannas" today in support of the band and the team. And thanks to the Springfield folks for compliments on the band....the five-piece ensemble is a third of AUPepBand but some of the most "fan"atical. These guys are crazy to give up a "sleep-in" day and instead rise in the dark at 5 a.m., travel 360 miles away to play tunes/lead cheers, then travel 360 miles back to campus, returning in the dark at 9:50 p.m. Great job today, guys. It is apparent that AU Pep Band loves the Saxons.

THANK YOU to all those who donated to the Julio Fuentes Medical Fund today. The response of the E8, D3football.com and the AU football community is heart-warming. I was told that our friends at Thiel collected about $1000 at their home game last week and plan to take a collection for Julio at all remaining home games this year. Meanwhile, we continue to pray for Julio with hopes that one day soon there will be some good news to report.

GO SAXONS!!!
We love our Julio....prayers for Julio.

I think that there is money and they are just waiting for more money, but as in all games why do we want to give the visitors good seats we don't want them to even be there

This is D3 football. There are high school teammates on opposite sides of the field. We're all family here. Is it too much to ask that your "guests" be given a suitable view of the game behind their team bench?

I think you'll find Merrill Field visitor seating, excepting a couple of poorly-placed light poles, to be most hospitable. AU is happy to welcome a good visiting crowd. Adds to the atmosphere.

I must confess, however, that AUPepBand was NOT very hospitable a few years back when IC-AU met at Merrill in the rain and, seated and dry under our EZ-Up, AUPepBand neglected to offer any shelter to the rain-soaked IC Pep Band.

hey if it was my choice there would be better seats, but I think the whole thing is usually games don't get as heated as they did today,  the games I remember well are the Uof R games where both sides sat on the same side they just made sure Fisher had their section UofR had their section and a lot of people went and sat on the lawn.  The one thing I have always said about Growney is that they built it with out thinking, because if they had been thinking there would have been toilets and concessions but for some reason fisher never thought about it.  I think the food place that was for fisher students was a thing that the Resident student association did, I think they were doing a tailgate party,  If all of my sources are correct I wanna congratulate the FDC'ers for being a class act and here's too more fans being like you

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Yeah Superman, that "Fisher Only" concession was indeed a Student Association deal.  I was actually behind Peggie Williams in line (at the everyone else food place) and she explained teh whole thing to me.  Basically Fisher students could sign off on a meal plan meal and eat at the game.  It's a pretty cool idea.  I just wished it was signed better so I didn't have to walk across the whole stadium.  Hopefully that clears up teh confusion a bit...

well... 102 degree fever... sucked.

bomber loss.... sucked

Mr. and Mrs. Flash's "Michigans" gooooooodddd eatin' right there!!

Well, pretty much, Tecmos rant summed up most of my thoughts.   I was a little late to the arrival of the 2nd half but heard a rumble from the stands and thought IC had scored. only to see the  it was in fact Fisher.  Point being, the FDC is amazing!! I enjoyed the game today and that there were "true blue" fans  in the stands.  As opposed of course to the Cortaca fans that show up from the boonies of boothroyd in a drunken stumble.

Our only option now is to win out.  Possibly a much much tougher task than what we are thinking.

Still in shock over this.  And i am rambling but its ok as Lady Dubbz and I just returned from some party and a night at the bars to some room in this building here on the Golden Flyer campus.

Well... i am going to fall asleep and hopefully wake up and realize this is a nightmare and its really saturday mornign all over again.

Go Bombers!!

Yes I agree, I apologize about that to you at least...The season in the E8 is definitely not over for any of the 4 teams involved today.

I was referring more to the phantom Alfred posters that don't do a good representation of your Fanbase.

one more thing... Mr. Robinson was a true sport at the end of the game as he shook my hand and said "good game, good job, thanks man"

I don't know if you mean the father or the son, but Mark has always been a genuinely nice person which makes his success that much more enjoyable to witness.

I think it will be interesting to watch Juvan at Brockport.... SJF's defense was damn impressive that second half, how do you think he reacted? Was it first-big-game syndrome, or are we seeing signs that he is a not a big-game guy?

And how come nobody in the FDC responded to my pleas for a Juvan chant to pump him up?? Come on, guys, we need to adopt, adapt, and improve! (anyone who can tell me whose motto that was gets karma.... as soon as I'm allowed to give it.)

I thought that was more of a comment on ithaca fans not Cortland fans, the same as the with the bad fisher fans come out for the battle of the beaks

IC FDCers, you guys are a class act, the exception being the one comment to #75- you guys are a credit to your team and school-great spirit-

For that, it is inexcusable.  Frustration brings out the worst, when theres nothing you can do but watch, it only comes to reaction and irrationality. It doesnt help seeing a Fisher player(s).. i mean, bench-sitter, taunting, flipping-off, and showing unsportsmanlike conduct towards not the other team, but the other teams fans.  I should think someone who is an athlete, (speaking as a former athlete) would be more focused on pumping up their own team, and their own players, and their own fans. However, whats done is done... and for my comment... I am sorry. It was very distasteful, and out of line esp. for a long standing member of the FDC crew, bomber fan, etc.  it was not appropriate, and i should think to permanently retire those words.
