Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

as for the game.  well. seems like everyone has brought up the accurate points. i do feel a bit salty about the whole thing.  as far as juvan pumping up goes... i think the FDC and fans did all they could.  i'm sure its hard for a young guy to get things going after the way Fisher started the 2nd half... No trashin' to Kit either, its one thing to not turn the hips in on a kick, and shank one... its another to have 5 ... or 6 monsters rushing in your face... with no protection.  tough break KB.  even that kick wouldnt have made the difference...

the 1 safety that shoulda.. and the 1 safety that coulda...  also frustrates me.  robinson, yes.. the real deal.  so.  after the 1st TD... where was the coverage on the 2nd?  yikes?!  not being able to score in the red zone... also hard to handle.

Growny... as i walked in.. it reminded me of our last game of the season at Union.  much the same layout... much the same result (bathrooms... are you kiddin me.  c'mon folks.  i suspect that since fisher is a "dry" campus, apparently no one will have to use the facilities during a game.  shocking. )

visitor stands.? at least butterfield we give the visitors a great view, and a high angle in which to view the game.  the zero-height and the long drawn out spectator section really deminishes the fans potential cheering abilities.

aside from that. pretty rough day. i dont want to say i saw it coming.. but i spoke to several of the FDCers at half time, and shared my concern for what was to come.  Way to make my nightmares come true Fisher.  being down 0-10 at the half, the players, coaches and fans showed their true colors over coming the deficit and turning the tides in a hurry.. especially against the #1 team in the state, not to mention 3 national titles, and a "then" record of 20-1 in the e-8. ...i was impressed

Well...

This is not the post I was hoping to make on my Sunday night.

1.  Congrats to Fisher on an amazing 2nd half.  I've never seen Ithaca dominated like that in my 7 years as a Bomber.
2.  I've never seen our offense look as bad as it did in the 2nd half.  Over the past 4 years we've been used to outscoring teams... and have been pretty darn good at responding when we've gone down.  We had a few chances to respond yesterday... and we just couldn't move the ball.
3.  Where was Alex Baez?  His number was only called 2-3 times that I can remember.
4.  Juvon is 0-1 in big games, and that's what you're measured by as a Bomber.  The games that count are Fisher, Cortland, and Playoff games.
5.  ER- Congrats to you and yours... Mark & the Fisher offense were as good as advertised.
6.  Karma to Yellowhat as soon as he posts again.  He made the trip from Denver, CO to watch the game... getting in Friday @ 11pm and leaving Sunday morning @ 8 am.
7.  Going along w/ Tecmo- Ithaca needs to bounce back this week.  Brockport has always been a tough place to play.
8.  In regards to the fans... I think the Fisher fans were probably just as obnoxious as our fun loving FDC.  I think most of us expected that when we took over a portion of the home stands.  I'm just glad we picked the side by the parents... and not the student section.
9.  Fisher administration does everything possible to make visitors feel like... visitors.  No grilling, no beer, 1 food stand, crappy bleachers.  I guess I should be happy though... we head to Brockport next week... which is even worse.
10.  Fisher- I think you've earned rival status.  I can't wait till next year at Butterfield.

Time to win out

when Robinson graduates, you can go right back to being a club team

Robinson missed 6 games last year and fisher won all 6-no one man can make or break a team-he is a great back and will be missed but a good program will cope

Yeah, that was a little strong. If you'll recall, it was in response the Fisher fan that yelled "Welcome to football, Ithaca!" I think that was pretty indefensible. I have nothing but respect for Fisher, but in terms of who belongs where, I'm not sure you guys have that much to talk about just yet....

I will say that this loss stung alot.  But that's the way sports are.  You win and you lose.  Kudos to Fisher for the second half turn around.  With only a 10 point lead and the Fisher fans quiet going into the half, I had a feeling we were in for some trouble.  Ithaca most definitely needs to bounce back in a big way, not only for winning out, but for team morale.
All hail the Booga

One of the younger members of FDC asked me after the game "Did we do a good enough job?"  I'd most definitely say yes.  As was said earlier, we had the Fisher fans chanting and yelling at us...not cheering for the game.  And as for the "stealing" chants, I was cool with it until they started the Ooga Booga mock.

As for keeping the cheers clean....being an athlete at both high school and college level, players appreciate when fans are behind them, but not when things turn ugly.  I was quite upset during the game when I had to forcibley tell a freshman in our stands to shut up.  There's most definitely something to be said for class in cheering.

All in all, disappointing weekend, but I was estatic with the FDC travel numbers.
All hail the Booga

Well, not the trip I had hoped, but it was good to meet some new FDC folks, Mrs. Lumpy, and the flash family.  Most everything has been talked about already, but it'll be a good gut check for the young qb at Special Olympic Stadium next weekend, where the weather seems to always be 40, rainy, and very windy.

   "Can't wait for Saterday...again!"

PLEASE don't tell me he was with that Cortland heckler.....

When are the new york state polls released? I'm curious to see where all of the teams are at now, most notably the E8 teams in relation to LL.  Also Alfred should take a hit but we shall see.

Nice to see you on the board tonight, Iceman!  Glad you made it home safe Yellowhat... was great seeing you this weekend.

Won on my single NFL pick today (Cleveland +7) over an insanely overrated Baltimore.  Pressing my luck on the Broncs tonight.

Looking forward to the Grido report tonight.  Will be interesting to hear Coach's thoughts.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Why would Alfred take a hit? Was Alfred even in the Top 5 in NY? Hard to knock a team down when they're not on the list to begin with. And a one-TD loss at Springfield...about the same as Union did.

Well, MIYH, you can be thankful that you have your outstanding Middle School Softball Team to return to, probably in action this week....that should lift your spirits! Middle School ...it's awesome.

I'd say around 15ish in yellow shirts, but overall Bomber fans commandeered about a third of the Fisher stands.
