What's the score of Port/IC? Just got home...
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

i just got home too .. can someone summarize what the game today was like?

I assumed the bombers were really gonna struggle today against that Port Defense... what happened?

I don't know, FLA, I missed the first few minutes of the game, and the announcers did not mention his name at all in the time I was listening to the game.

It was 26-7 Ithaca with like 4 minutes left...turned it off at that point.

bomberfan05

Ithaca's Defense came up with some turnovers, Stevens alone had 3 pics....game just ended.  The final  26-7 bombers.

First, Brockport really gave Ithaca 21 points with stupid penalties and 3 Interceptions, plus a poor punting/kicking game.

Second. Brockport's running back mysteriously didn't play today. I guess he was injured but heard nothing on it.

Ithaca was in control for the majority of the game, and Brockport's defense couldn't withstand all the mistakes its offense made.

Final from Merrill Field....
Alfred 48, Norwich 13
(but it really wasn't as close as the score would indicate)

Nope.  The old violation of team rules.  Cuyler Groth didn't play as well as Dave Burgiss(sp?).  Burgiss was hurt last week, not sure about Groth.  I'll find out when I speak with parties invloved in game.   ;)

Just got back from the Ithaca game... a lousy turnout for the FDC, it was me, MIOH, and Tecmo. Edge (insane though he is) got the crowd going though.

Basically we killed Brockport but didn't look that good doing it. I heard Lynch was out because he broke some team rule or something and the coach said he is benched for "at least" a week. Jeez, did Rocco catch him with his daughter or something?

Our running game was quite mediocre, Donovan did nothing save for his touchdown run; Baez had a little more luck but neither really broke free in any big way. Baez had a nice run in the 2nd quarter though.

Juvan still looks ok, he can really make a pass downfield when he wants to, and when he has time, which is a huge issue. TWO blocked punts and a blocked FG plus countless sacks.... Our OL seems to be a big weakness this year.

Big day for the receivers... Juvan has a crush on oertel and Gordon, but when he throws it elsewhere he can make progress... Bostic had a BIG reception up the middle in the third.

Our defense, in my opinion, was shaky at best, even with Blumenauer back. Yes, you can point to Stephens' three interceptions, which were all great, but that and some outstanding rushing by Byers were pretty much it. (Oh, and a highlight reel pick by the boy.... you should be proud Mr. N!)

Even though we were up big at the half, the defense let B-Port's crappy offense and REALLY crappy QB march down the field. I'm sorry, the stats look good, but B-Port handed us the game when they were on offense. Turnover after turnover, bad passing, nothing that indicated to me that our secondary was getting any better.

Overall, it's what we needed. Some confidence and a win that looks good. We need to start looking a lot better as a team if we are going to make/go anywhere in the playoffs.

Looking at the Bomber's schedule... I can't see any way that the Jug won't be a win-and-you're-in game for IC. Barring a loss to Springfield, possible but unlikely, it's going to come down to Nov. 11.

Just saw a commerical on TV:

Alfred University. Individuals. Inspired.

These people obviously don't read post patterns on d3football.com. It's almost Saterday and we've heard next to nothing from either the Alfred guys OR the Brockport guys. You know, occasionally even the IC guys like to talk about something besides IC...

Well, that's obviously not true. But come on, be individuals, be inspired!
Not much to say this week. Saxons hosting Norwich for Homecoming. Halftime score was AU 35, NU 0. AU had 306 first half yards, NU had 17. Final score was AU 48, NU 13 with lots of heretofore unknown Saxons seeing action.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

Just back from another windy cold day at Special Olympic Stadium...

I was glad that we didn't run into our friend the Keystone Cop today.  He must have been in the homecoming parade and too busy to make us pour out our cold beast lights.

Max- I think our defense looked pretty good today... and brockports offense helped us out quite a bit.  It was nice having charlie and blow-um-up blumenhauer back... It was clear that we missed them last week.  Our defensive line owned b-port today.

It's interesting to see how much of a "pass happy" offense we've become.  Esp. on 1st down's.  I was talking to Mr. N early on and we thought it was going to be a long day of #46 running the ball.

Juvon looked a little better today in the pocket... and finding his 2nd and 3rd options.  He had a nice TD pass to Hogan from about 45 yards out.  I think it's time to teach him how to slide though.  He tucked it in and ran a few times today... and he doesnt like to get down... which I'm sure was fine at Dobbs Ferry but not @ this level.

As sad as it was not having any FDC at the game... It was a great sight watching b-ports fan club leave after the 3rd quarter... something you'll never see from the FDC.

Mr. N- I'm glad they threw to #31 a few times today!
Flash- KG had 6 on that reverse if he get's it cleanly
lumpy- I can't wait for the new "slim bam" next year

I'll see you all at Cortaca!

B-Port's QB needs to take lessons from Darnley on how to "Throw Darts" against Ithaca's D
Go Hartwick!!!!

bombsaway

I think the FDC might have to start offering a pension with all it's memebers heading towards retirement...

I'll always have animosity towards RPI after that playoff game in the blizzard when the home town ref crew handed RPI the game on several occasions, my body, car, and soul have never been the same.  I stayed in a $30 a night room that had a cracked window that had blood stains on it...

Good win by the bombers, always tough to get a win AT 'port, the better/more deserving team doesn't always win...., but they did today..

Alfred, if only the scoreboard reflected how good your pep/marching band is..... you guys would still be a second rate program...

And it sounds like Brockport named their stadium in honor of their annoucers...BOMBSAWAY!
Targeted and ready for deletion.

Oh... It was nice to see our friend Mr. Bostic today.  He made a nice catch over the middle and saw some time on special teams.

As Rowdy used to say about Espo... "He's Tall"

Go Bombers

Game sounds excellent!!  I wish I could have been there but I had to bail on the FDC to do duty for the school at IC's Open House.  I got to catch the fourth quarter on teh radio.  The announcer said something along the lines of how Welch was frustrated with Juvan today and how he was leaving open recievers hanging...what happened???  It sounds like he played well according to you guys...  No offence Fisher guys, but let's go Hartwick!!!
