Bombsaway... are you a big Bills fan, or do I have the wrong guy?

Jose-

I'm hoping your D-Rays are foolish enough to unload Carl Crawford.  Unfortunately after the Kazmir robbery, your GM seems to want a king ransom for everything.

In my family pick 'em pool, I've been wrong about the Bills all four weeks.  I have a feeling I'll get it right this week though!

Tecmo, you don't talk about that trade in my presence. I still curse out Steve Phillips each time I see him on Baseball Tonight. Frankly, that won't stop for another, oh, 5-7 years. It's not like we could have used Kazmir this postseason. Nope, not at all.

Girardi grew up in the midwest, went to Northwestern, came up with the Cubs... it would just make too much sense.

With that being the case, we will inevitably sign Jimy Williams instead, and make our big splash in the FA Market signing Torii Hunter to a six year contract.  The fans will still sell out Wrigley, and I will be living in this baseball hell for another decade.

As I was reading that, I could totally see all of it happening. I loved when, back in May, Hunter said he was "trying to hit as many HR's as possible" because it was a contract year and he didn't care if that made him strike out more.

Different GM than the one that acquired Kazmir.  New owners for the Rays this year brought in a new GM (who happens to be our age).  Anyway, new owner appears committed to long term deals for key guys.  Locked up CC for a long K, then Rocco, negotiating with Kazmir right now.

I was in the ballpark a lot the last month and all the boys say the CC thing is just a rumor that was started by some backup Boston beat guys that get to make the last few trips.  Apparently, they approach covering the Red Sox with the mindset that "Hey, we are the Red Sox, we deserve Carl Crawford so the Devil Rays must be willing to trade him."

He is on revokable waivers but it would take something mighty serious to get him away.  We'll see.

Another pot shot at the red sox, ouch.  The funny comment was about the gm.  They are all our age.  Started with epstein and the daniels in texas.  I met the whole lot of them and texas I swear there were still pimples on them they were so young.  Great guys though, workaholics.  maybe they can find a pitcher next year.

Bombsaway, well, she lived in t-8 so i am sure she traveled as well.

I should add that after signing Jimy Williams to manage, and working out a six year deal with Torii Hunter, the Cubs will form a formidable starting rotation, centering it around their two horses, Mark Prior and Kerry Wood.

I am pretty sure the Mets GM in that trade was Jim Duquette.

No pot shot.  Some of these writers are pretty notorious in the business.

Well, it may have been. But don't ruin my happiness right now.

They may be young but most of them have Ivy League degrees and/or were Wall Street bigwigs/successful immediately out of school.

I know, I know ivy league but you can run a team if you didn't go to an ivy, they should give all of us a chance to run a team.

I like the cubbies but prior and wood get hurt cooking breakfast in the morning.  They should be in a bubble at all times
