If you weren't the subject of a Letter to the Editor during four years in Ithaca you just weren't trying.

We had a picture submitted next to the letter about us after we greeted the class of 2005 with a "Welcome, Fresh Meat" poster on our house at the Corner of S. Aurora and Prospect on Freshman move in day.  That landed us in the AD's office.

Oh lord, speaking of bad taste...

Didn't come to your house personally for that one?

No but the Cornell chaplain did.

We were having a BBQ on the porch and there was clearly a comma between welcome and fresh meat.  I guess I see how it was misconstrued but, we were simply inviting everyone to joing in our BBQ that had fresh meat on the menu.

When I think friendly service, I think Manos:

"Despite round-the-clock hours, Manos Diner and its employees are noted for friendliness.

As can be expected, all walks of life stroll into Manos during her eight-hour shift. "We get mostly college students coming after last call," Orourke said. But the diner also attracts truckers, delivery people and even a few regular exotic dancers."

Just talking about that place has made my clothes smell like cigarettes.  It was certainly a colorful crowd.

that killed me....you guys got hosed because you were closer to the bottom of the hill and because Athletes lived in that house (and had consistantly for years).  It was a beautiful day and just about every front lawn on the street was full.  I was at a similar bbq a couple blocks up and couldn't believe that the powers that be managed to take you guys to task for that.  Besides, most cars that went by enjoyed what we had to say.

Yes, that was me and one of my teammates.  About 20 people took pictures of the house as they went by.  We also had a letter to the editor in the Ithaca Journal.

It was the perfect location for such a welcome since everyone going up the hill had to pass our house.

I have heard through the grapevine that Cornell's Basketball Coach still tells his recruits the story when he passes the house on the way to lunch with them.

assistant coach??  He used to live in the house.

JQV

No the head coach.

Good catch though realistic.

We got the house through the aforementioned assitant coach.  He had been gone for two years when we pulled that prank though.

bomber27

Viper, teammates?  Anyone I know?  I lived off of prospect in Shreky's puke green house for two years right near there

JQV

I am certain you know my roommate.  I was already done playing by the time you got to campus 27.

Thats too bad.

I played hoop though, not football.

In fact, that is where MIOH and I met.

bomber27
