They can still get an at-large bid, but losing another game hurts.

At the half at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium, the score is Alfred 10, Utica 3.

'Twas a fun day at Charlie Gaetano's House. Pioneers made a game of it until the 67-yard TD strike from Keeley to Riley against the wind...(no one within 15 yards of Riley as Utica apparently was hell-bent on stopping a third-and-short run) very late in the third quarter. Keeley followed that up with a 56-yard strike to Jared "the Man" Manzer. Elmer "E-Train" Newsome got on the tracks, breaking a long run to set up, unfortunately...a Utica goal-line stand.

In the second quarter, AU's PK Chris Reynolds had nailed a 38 yard field goal...until the wind caught it. Headed straight through the uprights, the ball stopped in mid-air and fell short of the posts. Meanwhile, the wind subsided during fourth quarter whenever Utica went into punt formation. Amazing how the Pioneers have pioneered new climate control technology at Gaetano.

A four-piece AU Pep Band made the trip and accompanied Charlie's canned music. The Saxon fight song was not on the DJ's playlist. Perhaps AU Pep Band should cut a CD so they can play our song.

AU, at 8-2 in 2005....was snubbed. Same thing happened to IC in 2004.

Ithaca vs. BYE is scoreless at the half.

BYE completely shuts down IC offense and IC defense fails to register a single tackle. Definitely a crushing blow to Ithaca's stellar program.

I would really like to see Ithaca have a 40-point margin of victory next week. I'm not kidding when I say that should be a goal. To make sure the team is prepared for Springfield, Alfred, and Cortland, they should be focused on beating the snot out of Utica, at a proportion that would make them ready to be competitive when it counts. I'm sorry budcrew, nothing personal. I'm just worried about our boys, and this is what I want to see to ease some of that.

I remember a couple years ago trying to call in to order Cortaca tickets was useless.  cstate, do you know if they have fixed that, or is it still a better option to find someone to buy a ticket for me?

Also, do we know how many tickets are being made available?  Both in total and to Ithaca?

What are you talking about Ithaca had the #1 defense in the country last week.  No passing yards, no rushing yards allowed, shutout.  They were the best in the country (along with RPI)

cstate19

no i have absolutely no clue about calling in..........i would prolly have someone get them for you.......i believe we send the same to IC as they do to us which I believe is around 3,000.  The IC team gets about 250 comped

Yeah, I wouldn't rely on ordering tickets over the phone. My guess is that whatever tickets there are when they go on sale to the general public at both places, they'll be gobbled up quickly. Trying to get them over the phone would be tough. It'd be easier to have someone go and buy them for you the first day they go on general sale.

I don't think the schools ever release the official number of tickets put on sale until the day of the game, and that's when they announce the sold-out attendance. But I may be wrong. From what I remember, the Cortland grandstand seats 5,000 and the visiting bleachers sit 1,500. Then you add in possible standing room and the end zone bleachers and that'll be your number of total tickets.

Last time the game was held at Cortland, the listed attendance was 9,000. And that was mostly with the end zone bleachers empty and lots of people standing on the Ithaca side in front of the bleachers.

There's no information on Ithaca's site about how to get tickets there. I'd assume it will be up sometime this week. Tickets are available for Cortland students and staff beginning next Friday.

AU pep- ya missed a shot at having some of Utica's specialties...

too bad-- next time!

When Springfield was supposed to be dominating a couple of years ago and had that great option offense, the Fisher D destroyed them,  the Fisher D is better this year.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.
