Great , over the past 4 years they have played a few teams "close".  When they start winning that's when we talk them up.  I have cheered for a lot of teams that have increased their potential, but that doesn't mean anything until you get over the hump and beat some people.
Speaking of which....

BIG GAME 7 TONIGHT, might have to fly up to denver for this one yellow... and I like your retort, you're right, only one of them is still playing, let's hope he plays for another week..

PS... since when is narrowly LOSING to Alfred a good sign for your school budcrew?

Squeaking out a win against Mount Ida was my sign that things weren't progressing so well.

I'll do my best to root for your Mets tonight, boys.  I must admit, I have a tough time watching NL playoffs games.  I enjoy it for a few minutes, and then start to get bitter for obvious reasons.... but good luck to the Amazin's tonight. Better dead than red!

ps-

I think the decision to start Oliver Perez is a horrible one.

realistic

unfortunatly the options are bad, bad and worse.

Maine did everything he needed to and then some last night.  Tonight we're gonna need another big hitting game.

High Life, Iceman (who seems to have disappeared), max, and other current FDC students,

Can I get one of you to buy me a Cortaca ticket?  I will gladly pay you back that weekend, but I won't be able to stand in line and pick one up  :)

I can do it.... ;)

Wow, and to complete the Niagara County Trifecta, I am from Newfane.  And I also agree with your proclamation of what is and isn't Western New York.

Wierd, what year did you graduate from Newfane?

Night Shift punchin in.....

Since I consider Alfred to be a top team in the Empire 8 and the East Region, that's when.

man the rumors are flying around the boards....

According to a source on the NJAC Boards it appears that its "VERY bad news" for Cortlands QB, not sure how to take it though.  Maybe some Cortland guys can shed some light on the subject.

Also any news of the SJF/MUC game in 08? Is it going to be a one shot deal or a home and home series?

John McGraw

I agree with budcrew. I don't think Utica's going in the wrong direction. While their progress isn't evident in wins and loses, the program has come a long way since it debuted. Remember, this is still a young football program. Nick Martin, I believe, is the first senior quarterback in school history. He's had some struggles this year because most of the supporting cast around him is new. Last year, the Pios had lots more upperclass leadership and this season, without those players, its been tough times.

But, Coach Kemp is still building in Utica. He brought in a good class this season based on last year's success and in a few years I think they will be respectable. I don't think its reasonable to suspect they'll be challenging for the conference championship, but they will be a mid-level team looking for the right mix to jump to the top. Look at Alfred and St. John Fisher. Not too long ago, they were among the worst teams in the state (no offense guys). And now, they're two of the better teams in the conference. Alfred's success is translating into recruiting and they're bringing better players into the program. Alfred fans, Dustin Morris from Homer will be a good one. Same with St. John Fisher. Obviously you can't really replace a guy like Mark Robinson, but when the Cardinals lost Jason Meyers, no one thought Fisher would have someone better than him.

The true test for Fisher will be can they keep their success up. I still think Ithaca is the measuring stick for upstate New York football. Back when I was in school, people thought Buffalo State would be the next challenger. After Jerry Boyes became solely the AD, the program went downhill and still hasn't climbed out of the pit. Brockport next stepped up the plate and had great success with Bob Darnley during the early 2000s. But, the Golden Eagles have struggled the last few years due to a variety of reasons and find themselves back in the middle of the pack. Now, St. John Fisher is on the top of the mountain with Ithaca. Can they keep up their success?

Okay...

can someone please update me on what is going on...

Cortland QB?
Utica ....  budcrew, please. you're coming to Butterfield.  Lets not get exited.  Utica is playing... THEE Bombers.  you know,  the ones that have winning seasons, and a few national titles.  Bomber monkey stomp coming up. cold, wet, and with a slice of "WHERES HE GOIN'!!!!!"

Yankee fans.  stop.  Its over. the season that is.  so stop complaining. Please. this is why every other teams fans cant stand yankee fans... cause all you can do is complain when things dont go your way.  I think by now, we're all used to the bragging and in your face attitude that comes when the yanks win.  Face it. if you want a hot dog in october,  you'll just have to cross the street and grab one at Shea-
Seriously though.  Ask, anyone who isnt a yankee fan.  (i admit, they have a great program, and great players, and a great staff) but when you lose. Let it go.

(p.s.) I love all the yankee fans who are die-hards who never root for anyone else... but Are NOW rooting for the tigers.  haha.  you kill me.

God bless.  Lets go   Mets
