Sorry to my Mets fans friends, I was bummed for you.  I remember the feeling of watching another team on celebrate on my teams home field.  I didn't like it.

Thanks buddy.  It was tough to swallow, but it's not like they didn't have opportunities.  I was happy not to see Lima start during the postseason though.  That's when you know you've hit rock bottom.

cstate,

Is this sophomore replacement Miles the same type of rookie soph. that Juvan is?

Nope....Juvan has 6 starts.

Yeah, No way does that half vs West Conn compare to the time that Juvan has had.  Miles has Rowan and Ithaca up and thats not a great way to start your career.  Could get ugly, if Cortland goes 0-2 vs IC and RU does that kill their Pool C chances this year?

I have no stomach to talk any sports after last night.... it just hurts too much, Endy Chavez went from being a historic Met to being forgotten... truly a day of remorse

I dont think he'll be forgotten... i think it was a proving ground... the whole post season was.  You know, it was a battle of pitching... if the mets had the Duke and pedro healthy... i think the Mets would have walked through the dodgers and cards alot eaiser.  hard to take on a historically powerful and skilled team like the cards with maybe 2 decent starters.   sure its sad, but with bases loaded, and your best hitter at bat.. thats the only way i'd have the mets go down... swingin'... and at home. in front of all the people that have followed them through thick and thin... but unfortunately... he went down lookin' .. but close enough-

yeh, Dubbz, good to be back.  hopefully here to stay-

Rowdy,

Couldn't have gotten through the Dodgers much easier.

I'm not that angry with Beltran, but more with Valentin for striking out earlier in the game.  Anytime you've got the bases loaded and less than two outs, you gotta push across something.

It wasn't the pitching that cost the Mets in this series. They became too dependent on the long ball this post season. The pitching was more than adequate. When you have the offense that the Mets have and you give up nine runs over the last three games, you have to win at least two of those. Period. By the way, did David Wright get kidnapped after the All-Star Game? If someone can find him, tell him that the Mets could have used him.

While I don't blame Beltran for the way it ended, I knew the hook was coming on that pitch. If I knew it was coming, he should have known it was coming. This is especially so considering he'd been struck out twice late in games with curveballs...so they were obviously using that as the "out" pitch.

Being a Sabres fan, as well, last night's game and Game 7 of the Sabres/Canes series are two pretty big kicks to the junk.
