Miles has now played almost 2 full games in a row, and has played great football, in my eyes there is no great drop off with qb play, where it will hurt them, is the leadership that smith brings to the table as a 4 year starter...but miles took cortland into the hawks nest today and did what ever they wanted to do to montclair

but really............cortland wins 41-3 and SC beats a team BELOW cortland and cstate should drop in the rankings???? .............i know the rankings mean nothing but c'mon at least use common sense

cstate...

Don't be surprised if Springfiled gets inside the top ten this week.......that win "at" Fisher is pretty impressive....

you said it ...stay focussed on next week....if everybody takes care of business....Cortcaca is bigger then ever!

Kramer is going for x-rays on his foot- yoiu IC boys had better hope that Sharpe gets hurt in practice or they let you play with an extra defensive player- I would not have believed the game that kid had if I had not seen it with my own eyes-3 td's were from broken plays!!!!

er1948.....
Did Stepnick play today?  And how did your guy do....? I saw a post about "rotating".....?

Any given Saterday...you guys are still in control of your destiny...same as the focussed Bomber squad at South Hill....one game at a time.....

I don't believe he played today.

boobyhasgameyo

Stepnick did not play, and I forgot to mention that.  Having him out there could have really helped on some of the plays since he is so fast and such a good tackler.  Really missed that.

Robinson had another solid game, I don't know if the numbers will support it but he was as efficient as always.

Also whoever mentioned Cortland having the number 2 rush defense last year..... Well as somebody else mentioned they are ranked in the 70's this year and Fisher's rush defense was ranked in the top 25 and Springfield didn't really seem to care about that much.

Wow so I just got back.......

Sharpe makes me cry he is so good

Not seeing one defensive stop outside of a fumble is the most frustrating thing I have endured this year

I will not say another word about Alfred because that is no gimmie, however I will mention that it will be nice to play defense against a conventional offense again.

Xdragon - 5 interceptions and 7 sacks means little against a QB that throws no more than 5 times a game and is a master at running with broken plays so good luck doing either against him.

If we win out and still lose the AQ I would think we would get an at large bid.  I still believe this team can do damage in the playoffs and the Fisher defense is just better suited for conventional offenses.  We could not stop that stuff, wow wow wow.

booby

Sounds like the fumbles today were from SC's D getting penetration? during pass rush?

They are still the most machine like offense I have ever seen......always a very tough athletc team.....always...

Fisher put up pretty big numbers passing...late in the game....all game long???

Mr. N. Rochester Greece right?

Fisher was indeed in the top 25 & guess what happened?

Sharpe put up 280 yds & the BACKUP fullback put up well over 100.

Vosburgh's out of his element - Robinson didn't get enough carries when it mattered.

er1948

BOB- Fisher was without 4 starters on D, but I'm not sure they would have helped that much-that kid has great vision and is strong as hell as well as being fast

SC can get inside the top 10...........i just flat out do not believe that they are better then Cortland.........and dare I say I am rooting for IC next week just so this bandwagon SC crowd can GO AWAY!

Mr. N-

Fisher threw on them fairly well all game long, yes. Played a dangerous game though, they always put themselves in a 3rd & long situation forcing them to throw.

That led to my aforementioned comment about Robinson not getting the carries.

Springfield's defense wasn't on the field much at all - if Fisher had employed a grind it out running gameplan to chew up some time, things may have been a little better.

The only thing worse than a triple option team that is firing on all cyliders is a spread option team that ticks like a clock.  Personally, I would rather play your typical I team than an option team cause all it takes is one breakadown with an option squad.  I was one of those guys picking SC by 10 on the poll just because that scheme is so sick when its ticking.
There were 2 years that we beat SC when they were ok and then there were 2 years that they ran the option to perfection.  All 4 years their D was soft.  The losing efforts were like 62-41 in '98 and 48-28 in '00.
Tatse It  - well run option tastes like pooh.
Taste It!

I was saying the exact same thing you were last week - I'm telling you that they're the real deal.

Trust me, with Fisher's solid defensive play coming into the game, and hearing all of the "Sharpe this" & "option that" , I was sick of it too. Figured they were way too hyped up... but it's the real thing.
