SUNY Cortland got a shout out on 30 Rock (the new SNL based show)

Alec  Balwin is introducing Tracey Morgan to the staff and introduces one writer as "__(name)__ got a 760 on his SAT's, he graduated from SUNY Cortland."

Anyway - got a kick out of it.

Damn, he took the SAT.  He must have been valedictorian at C-State.

theicdubbz

that would be why their football team is so good

Some initial thoughts on Alfred-Hobart:

Although Hobart will come into this game as the "favorite" (based on being 6-0 & nationally ranked), a quick look at team stats reveals Alfred as the better squad on paper.

Even adjusting the results (being that Alfred has played 7 games vs. Bart's 6) shows Alfred being better than Hobart in most of the major categories (total avg o, d, tds scored, allowed, etc).

Alfred's Keeley sounds like the type of QB who could really give Hobart's inexperienced secondary a tough day, unless turnovers trip him up.

The only edge TGP can give Hobart at this point is in the rushing game.  Blakowski has rushed for 128 and 214 yds respectively the last 2 weeks (which tells TGP the Hobart OL is getting the job done up front).

Either way, it will be fun to see this Upstate rivalry renewed after a 2 yr hiatus.

The last time Alfred and Hobart squared off, Craig Swanson tied the career record for completions and became the first Statesman to throw for more than 5,000 career yards.  Shawn Mizro (currently with 5418 career passing yds) has a chance to surpass Swanson (5678) on the all time Hobart passing list this weekend if he passes for more than 260 yds (a tough task given the quality of Alfred's pass D).

I alomst pissed myself reading about Nik Busco.  Wow, a name I had long forgotten, but an appearance that will always be with me.  That was an individual who was very committed to his craft.  I wish I could have been on the sideline for the pants splitting episode.

During a TV broadcast a member of our crew , whom some of you may know, was up in the press box behind me only to see some kid walking through butterfield and towards the exit with our crew member's bike.  I think the thief was about 10 years old and he jumped up and ran out of the press box after the kid and finally tracked him down.  Made for nice conversation during a bombers blow out..

There's no doubt IC plays spring better at home, and I remember sitting in Welch's office talking to him about defending the Trip Option and if memory serves it's nothing that scares him, they know how to defend it, it's just up to the players to be in their assigned spots and be disciplined... we'll see if they are this saturday, I think it's going to be a tough game..

True/False:

The best QB in the E8 is Paul Keeley?

(Note that Sharpe is a RB that takes the ball from center and occasionally throws a half-back option pass)

This was one of the greatest moments in ICTV history.  "Hey, that kid is stealing my bike."

Only topped when we gave a former Bomber color analyst (and current College hoop coach) a note that read "So and so just broke this record and I am not wearing any pants." So great that he just read things live without looking first.  All of ICTV's audience finally found out what was going on underneath that press box desk.

How do his numbers compare to Kramer's?

I do want to add Alfred doesn't have a chance in hell of winning against Hobart this weekend... just incase any of my AU friends are getting excited.  One poster said Alfred is better on paper? Better on paper?? Hobart 6-0! RANKED (which was mentioned) Better on paper?? that's what I'm talking about guys, come on, what does that mean?? Hobart by 17..

Funny for you, maybe....trying to get him to read and/or look at anything before a show was hell.  The few semester that I produced for him were hell.

I was surprised how good they were.

But - I don't see the logic in saying that Sharpe can't/won't be considered.  An option QB is still a QB.....

Don't know much about Alfred but Hobart is beatable. Bart plays well in all aspects of the game with no glaring weakness but has played teams too close this year. I think the bart posters would agree to that.

Now, if bart gets their orange colored sh!t together this week, watch out.

Bombsaway,
The poster that stated Alfred was better on paper is actually a Hobart fan (I believe).  I'm not sure how this game is gonna play out, but I'm as excited as I was travelling up to Ithaca last year at the potential for a great run to end the season.

TGP,
Are you travelling to Alfred this weekend?  If so, stop by the AU Pep Band tent and say hi.  If Saterday's weather is anything like our other home games this year, you'll need a place to escape the hail!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

If it was a hobart fan he needs to spend more time wandering about the william smith side of campus and less time in his dorm room looking up stats, because it's not working
