It's irrelevant how many one-loss teams there are if there are Midwestern two-loss teams or two-loss teams viewed as having quality losses.  You've watched this play out for a number of years...You know how the committee works.  It's not a simple "more losses" issue.

I dunno if that's true.  If so, two-loss teams in the OAC would often get in before one-loss teams.  Outside of theh NEFC teams and other extreme bottom feeder conferences, I haven't seen that too much.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Throwing words like paucity around isn't going to impress anyone.. it's only going to confuse poor ICdubbz.

If 3 E8 teams finish 9-1 they could all get in the NCAA's.

Last year RPI lost to Union in the last week (Union got the A, Hobart a C). 7-2 Cortland and 8-2 Wilkes got the C bids.  Had RPI beat Union and gone 8-1 they probably would have bumped Cort or Wilkes out.

I have been a real lurker on the boards this season, but knew I would have something to say about a 3 team tiebreaker after this weekend's Springfield win.

Things usually play themselves out before they really need to go through a lot of tiebreaker steps.  Ithaca fans (including myself), should first worry about beating Springfield AND Cortland.  Then after winning both these games, I doubt there will much of a tiebreaker to go through.  Remember last year when Fisher lost to Alfred?  This sort of stuff happens every year, so just sit back and let the season play out.  I would be surprised if it came down to quality of wins.

Also, someone mentioned home field advantage.  Is that really an issue anywhere except at butterfield with the FDC 3rd down noise?
Go Bombers!

question for those close to the players... have any of them said anything about playing at Butterfield with the FDC and any impact?

How close will the Springfield/Ithaca game be?

IC guys, take a deep breath and calm down. What is one of the first things that a committee looks at when selecting a team? How well they're playing at the time the bracket is selected (save for when IC beat Cortland by 3 TD's in the Jug and didn't get in to the playoffs in 2004). I will GUARANTEE you that if Ithaca wins these next three games, they're in the playoffs.

Never been so sure of anything in my life.
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

couldn't agree more.  just winning out the rest of this season should be good enough.  If Ithaca is Springfield's only loss and Cortland's only loss, that will be a Pool C bid for Ithaca.
Go Bombers!

well thats good....nice and simple.  All IC has to do is beat an undefeated Springfield squad, go on the road to an improved Alfred team, and go on the road to a currently undefeated Cortland team for Cortaca.  Sounds like a cake walk to me.

I think the reason people are discussing it so much is that is a HUGE task.... I for one am quite nervous.

they are on hiatus over there... big games start next week.

So basically, the playoffs start this week for IC. agree?

I think there are two happy outcomes left for IC this season:

1) Win out, get in.

2) Drop one to SC, C-State loses to Rowan, and then win the Jug and screw Cortland out of the playoffs when they have their best team in 10 years.
