Also.... what the hell is up with that icon. Certainly no -k for that, but no +k either....

Isn't Dubbz' icon an animated picture of Alfred's mascot?

(Or is it too early to start the IC-Alf trash talkin'?)

It's definitely too early.

Haha +k. Leave Frank alone.  He is still working on his long promised analysis.

I put the bid analysis in LL a few minutes ago...It's too long to post in multiple locations.

Yeah, that's a killer.

Frank- Here's my analysis for the playoff bids... it's similar to yours, a little shorter & I'm sure it took less time... and some poor SOB isn't getting over billed for it.

Ready?

LIVE REPORT: NCAA D3 playoff bids are too close to call --- 1 or 2 teams likely from each conference based on remaining schedule results.

That was a classic.  If I hadn't already given you +k earlier for the Sharpe post I would certainly give it for that post.  And, you capitalized "LIVE" to boot, appeasing SC fans everywhere.

Figured as much.  I also had a pretty good pepband drummer zinger lined up with Dubbz' icon.  Alas, it can wait a week I suppose.

AU Fans -

Any game notes coming from the AU side of the fence on this weekend's Bart-Saxon match up?

Hobart should be releasing their sometime later this afternoon.  TGP will post the link once they are out.

AUPepBand

Haven't seen any game notes...they'll be in the game program. Look forward to the 'Bart's report.

Incidentally, given that this will be the 77th meeting of the two institutions on the gridiron, the first meeting having come in 1899, and with the Liberty League vs. Empire 8 banter in NY D3 football, and the closeness of the games over the years and closeness of the series (led by 'bart 37-35-4), would you consider Hobart and Alfred to be "rivals"? And, if so, shouldn't the game take on some additional fanfare?

The Al-Bart Bowl?

AU certainly has the potters to make a bowl if that's all it takes.

KARMA SCORE:
AUPepBand 31, The Great Pumpkin 30

Potentially, but I think given the separate leagues, Bart's main rivals will continue to remain Union, RPI and UofR - all of which I believe pre-date the Alfred rivalry.

TGP does like the ring of the "AL-BART" Bowl though......

Weekend prediction:
AU - 17
Hobart- 10

Write up goes something like this. "Hobart jumped on the board first with an early 2nd quarter touchdown.  Just before half Paul Keeley threw a 30 yard td to Bork.  Hobart answered in the 3rd with a field goal to take the lead back at 10-7.  After a fumble, AU takes the lead on a 7yd run by E-money Newsome.  And with 5minutes left to play, Alfred kicks a field goal to preserve the win and set up a showdown with Ithaca, who also won 45-35."

Put it in the books.

AUPepband: I'm in Greensboro, NC teaching 8th grade social studies.  Its too cold up there for me.  I'll tell the fam you said hi.  If we can put together a string these next two weeks then I'll be at the Fisher game with bells on and a kazoo.

That write-up would have been almost as professional as the SC SID's.

'Tis true, 'tis true.  Sadly JoseQViper is going to miss it because he is going to Jacksonville for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.  JoseQViper is also going to miss watching his alma mater, H.B. Plant High School and their top ten QB (verbaled to 'Bama) take on cross town rival Jefferson High School and their top ten QB (who has been featured on ESPN).

More Guavaween info here: http://www.cc-events.org/gw/

cstate19

cstate just tivo'd the IC-utica game to go along with IC-buff state to go into his IC-****ty team library.........cstate also thinks ICTV's camera guy sucks as cstate missed #83's "nice catch" to set up the second touchdown(according to announcers, cstate couldnt see!)

Gro will have to break out the 'Nasty Nate' costume he wore in 2002 and make a trip down to Ybor this weekend.

EDIT speaking of nasty nate, this post is on page 666.
"No... NO!!! naughty jungle of love. 666 the mark of the beast!!"

There's just something about halloween... people act stupid, girls act very stupid (wink). In guavaween, you add the warm FL weather and all hell breaks loose. Girls run around in thongs and cat ears.  It's probably the most underrated party in the country.  Where's the 'wild on E' special? where's the MTV true life episode?

It is truly crazy.  I stopped going the year someone was walking around poking people with an AIDS infected hyperdermic needle.

A buddy of mine got mugged in Vancouver with one of those. The guy pointed at some dudes across the street, said they were the Chinese mafia and he had to pay a toll. Then he whipped out the syringe. My buddy says he thought "well, I'm bigger than this guy and could probably take him, and odds are there's no AIDS in that needle. but, hell, i don't think i wanna mess with the Chinese mafia."

The end of the story is that the guy was polite enough to give him his wallet back after he took the money.

What were we talking about again?
