Ithaca looks mighty determined these days.  Seems like the team has come together nicely. Great to see some new names like Samela, Chier, and Kiah coming up big for the defense.

My shot at this week's East Regional Rankings?
1. Hobart 7-0 7-0,
2. Wilkes 8-0 8-0,
3. Cortland 7-0 8-0
4  Springfield 7-1 7-1
5. Union 6-1 6-1
6. Ithaca 6-1 7-1
7. St. John Fisher 8-1 8-1,
8. Rowan 3-1 5-2
9. Alfred 6-2 6-2
10. Curry 8-0 8-0

Certainly 4-7 seems like the hard part...
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

right now I would have to put Springfield, Ithaca, and Fisher neck and neck, Because Fisher put a beating into Ithaca, Springfield put a beating into fisher and Ithaca put a beating into springfield,  Springfield clearly has the easiest remaining schedule,  I think that Ithaca will beat Alfred, but I think Cortland Shocks Ithaca and that could kill Ithaca's playoff hopes, lets hope not, if E8 has 3 one loss teams and each loss is to a ranked opponent, I can't see the NCAA not taking all 3 teams, how many pool c bids are there

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

7 are reserved for pool b leftovers and pool c.  Or Pat would direct you to check the FAQ.  :)

Interested to see how the Ithaca - Alfred game plays out... Keeley is a good QB so that will test the bomber secondary, but I think they forgot about Newsome. The kid is a horse & I don't think he's getting many carries this year... Could be wrong though - Pepband, any comments on that?
Na.
Well that doesn't shed a lot of light on the subject AU

Of course I was just kidding, tags. Seldom at a loss for words here. Elmer Newsome looked more like the E-train of '05 on Saterday...8 carries for 71 yards with a 37-yarder against Hobart. Must have been the 'pep' talk I gave him last week.

The combination of Newsome and Fuentes provided a 1-2 punch for AU last year. Newsome would mow you over, Fuentes would dance around you. Been told it's tough to defend diverse running styles like that. Was tough losing Fuentes for more than his running...a team sparkplug who raised the standard in the work ethic department.

To summarize, AU, after losing Fuentes, has used primarily three RBs in '06....Newsome (454 yards) Vinson Hendrix (frosh from East High, Rochacha...275 yards), Morgan O'Brien (quick hard-running soph from Bradford, PA...258 yards). Hendrix has speed and agility but was slowed by an ankle injury, which opened the door for O'Brien, who is quick to the hole and runs hard.

Guess AU is looking more like a three-headed monster this year.

Thanks AU - Would probably be beneficial to get Newsome 15-20 carries a game. He's a real tough runner.

Unless your name rhymes with "Dark Snobinson" you don't want to make running your chief weapon against the IC defense.... you want to expose the weak pass protection. As much as Sharpe sucked Saterday (and he did), he hit up his receivers for at least three beautiful receptions... too bad they dropped two of them. I believe IC is best suited to spending most of their week figuring out Keeley instead of Newsome...

Ooops...I've stumbled into the ODAC board and gotten bombarded... I should probably stay within the friendly confines of the east (outside of the NJAC, that is).

Keeley is a joy to watch. Not a showboat. An effective team leader, very efficient QB. Epitomizes everything that is good about D3 football. We at AU are blessed to have him.

IC's defense is as stout as ever, giving up but a TD each game since the second-half let-down at Growney. Hobart's defense was tough...was actually surprised to see AU's total yardage given the final score. The INT for apparent TD was a jolt....Statesmen dodged a bullet there in 2nd quarter or AU would have been up 14-6 at the half. Great game, nevertheless.

A bit disappointed in Pep Band turnout...road trips have taken a toll. Had more been there, however, half of our members might literally have been "blown away" during the National Anthem as a 40 mph gust whipped through Merrill Field, nearly toppling our sousaphone player! Our little flute/piccolo player would no doubt have taken to flight with that gust.

Should have a stronger showing for IC Saterday.

Can someone tell me how Ithaca has any chance of a higher QOW rating than SJF?? What is the QOW based on??

It's a point based system that gives you a certain amount of points based on if you won or lost a game, where you won or lost it, and who you won or lost it against.  click the quality of wins index on the front page, it shows it all.

Port, how does corltand have a bigger problem looking ahead? they are going to rowan and playing for the njac championship.....they win this game they get the AQ....there is no looking ahead...they are worried about the profs and nothing elese....10-0 is the goal from here out, but its more important to beat rowan and get that playoff berth......the dragons are comming and spitting fire
No matter where we go, it's about who we are.......C-STATE!!!!!!!!

Well then don't even mention Cortaca, until you have actually beaten Rowan.  That's what I mean when you told Ithaca to not look ahead to CORTACA.  Don't worry what Ithaca should not be looking forward to... The sole attention for you should be on the Profs.

That being said, whatever...I can't deal with the NJAC folk any longer.

Shocking: I lost Karma in dealing with the NJAC!

here i give an ic team credit and want to see them win, and u jump down my throat with bs....ur like most of the people who does not want to see cortland do good..and dont give them the respect they deserve....but its all good! its people like you that make each win that much better........
