Some food for thought: If C-State beats Rowan this weekend and then nips IC in the Jug, does IC still have a shot at the playoffs when their two losses were to two teams with one combined loss? I'm thinking probably not, if only for the reason that both Fisher and SC would make it that way. I suppose if there are two one-loss teams and only two will make it, I doubt they'd let IC in if they have two losses.
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

Jose - I'll do this over here in relative safety...but literally laughed out loud at the poll on the NJAC - nice

How'd you know it was me?

If that guy is waiting for me to call him Howard Cosell or something, he is going to be waiting a long time.

In all seriousness, Nick Gatto has gotten a major pass this week thanks to the NJAC.  Wait...maybe Gatto is JT?

Einhorn is Finkle?

sorry about that.... I just assumed.

Its just opinion (I don't have the math skills to rock the formulas that some of these guys do) but I don't see it happening for IC with 2 losses.  Even if everything that would have to go right does, I can't see 2 loss IC making it.  Therefore, win out and no worries...right?

Saterday game plan:

AUPepBand picks up a few more musicians from the streets with plans to hypnotize Bombers into submission to our mighty Saxons.

Oh, and I went to the NJ Parochial State Championships a few years back at Giants Stadium - Bosco vs. Paramus Catholic when Bosco was #2 in the nation.  Probably about the best football game I've ever seen.  There's nothing better than a rivalry game for the championship.  Paramus played over their heads for  51 minutes, but one bad play cost them the game 14-13 Bosco.  I wasn't too torn since I was there to watch Ramapo in the first game and stuck around for the classic afterward (and to watch Phil Simms' sycophants follow him around).

was that the year that ramapo lost to indian hills in the thanksgiving game and went on to beat demarest in the state finals?

TYH,
That was the game, though I think you meant they lost to Wayne Hills.  That was a great game as well.  The coach's kid for Wayne Hills was a STUD.  He played running back and line backer, I think.  Which ever side he was lined up on, Ramapo took the play the other way.

As for the state finals, I felt a little torn since my great-grandmother was a Demarest, but since my mom went to Ramapo, my grandmother still lives in Wyckoff and I'd been working with a few kids on the Ramapo team, I was fully behind the Green Raiders.

Realistic,
Alfred doesn't have a chance.  It's a disgrace that they're even fielding a d3 football program.  The Saxons should just read the writing on the wall and play in the NJCAA so they can lose to Alfred State every year.  I also didn't factor in the fumble returned for a touchdown: Ithaca - 62, Alfred - 6.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

This has to be the most unique tack I have ever seen a fan base take.  It's not often you work for the reverse jinx.  I am going to attempt to counteract it by editing my signature.

Early prediction

Bombers  27
Saxons    10

I don't know if anyone has really addressed this, but the IC defense deserves a lot of credit this year. I'll be the first to admit I was very harsh on them last year and, in all honest, quite skeptical of the unit coming into this season. With the exception of one bad half at Fisher, the unit has been just as good as IC's offense.

Considering the fact the Bombers have yielded only 7 points to each of their last four opponents, I'd say Ithaca is rather stout on that side of the ball. If that's all the Bombers will allow Keeley and Ko. to score, hoping AU's defense can hold IC to 6, but as AUKaz00 has already stated, it'll be more like 62.

Jose: Nice try, but it ain't gonna work. But +k anyway for making me laugh!

IC's defense has been getting better every week but, at this point we only are sure that they have improved against the run.  We haven't played a team willing to pitch it around the lot since Week 3, and even then Fisher only went to the pass late in the game. Huntingdon had a lot of success, at least with one WR.  Here's hoping that part of the D has evolved along with the rest.

When Brockport's mediocre passing unit was forced to the air due to the lack of Lynch... Charlie Stephens ate them up to the tune of three INTS. You and I both saw the secondary suck against Hartwick, but that was against that all-pro quarterback. Keeley, from what I hear (from Tecmo) is not as good as the Hartwick kid, but he is decent. I think IC's pass defense will hold, but I don't expect it to dominate.

Saxons might be better off going back to scheduling local high schools like the program began in the 1890s.

Results from 1895:
Wellsville 24, Alfred 0
Wellsville 18, Alfred 0
Bradford 10, Alfred 0

They did better in 1896:
Alfred 18, Hornell 6
Alfred 6, Hornell 0
Alfred 4, Hornell YMCA 0
Alfred 0, Wellsville 0 (tie)
Alfred 4, Geneseo 4 (tie)

But these scores from 1927 are a good indication that Alfred is out of its league playing intercollegiate football:
AMherst 21, Alfred 0
Rochester 21, Alfred 0
NYU 65, Alfred 0
Niagara 26, Alfred 0
St. Bonaventure 57, Alfred 0
Hobart 50, Alfred 0
Rutgers 42, Alfred 0
Clarkson 33, Alfred 0
Buffalo 0, Alfred 0 (tie)
The team failed to score a point for an entire season! (but still managed to tie the UB Bulls)

My hunch is that Jason Chier was be a really positive influence at CB.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

My prediction is that Alfred runs all over Ithaca and wins the game 77-7....
