Morning shift punchin in.

Wow- love to see the AU Fisher banter...

Any word on Kramer?

I think this bye week may actually help this year...

Hoping this is a win and in...

Pressure makes diamonds!

FisherAlum05

Fisheralum91,

Bye week definately helped Fisher alot.  I've heard that everyone is ready to go including Kramer and Stepnick is finally at 100%.  Norton also back at 100%.  Should be well rested and ready to beat AU for a spot in the playoffs.  I think I might even make the long trip down to Alfred for this one!!!

Also, I wanted to say to the AU fans that I think Fisher is going to win this one.  However if Alfred does pull it out I definately believe they are in the playoffs.  Nobody thinks you can make the tournament with 2 losses but it can happen and has happened.  And if AU finishes strong again this year there is no way the committee leaves them out.  Good luck this weekend its gonna be a great game!  Go Cardinals!

You've held SJF under 29 pts once in 4 years...

Its not unrealistic to think SJF could score 30 pts this weekend, however with Keeley having a break out year they may have to...

Record of Alfred vs. St. John Fisher Series:
(Alfred leads series, 5-3)

1992--Alfred 24, Fisher 6
1995--Alfred (forfeit)
1999--Alfred 20, Fisher 14
2000--Alfred 43, Fisher 14
2002--Fisher 34, Alfred 26
2003--Fisher 29, Alfred 22
2004--Fisher 30, Alfred 20
2005--Alfred 13, Fisher 7

I count two times in seven games in which Fisher scored 30+ points against AU. Alfred was within at least 10 points in both games.

Gentlemen, AUPepBand cannot predict the future. AU's "no-name" defense performed admirably against a formidable opponent on Saterday. Time will tell whether they do likewise against a very potent Fisher attack on Veteran's Day.

I think that last year's AU defense was better than this year's.  And two seasons ago might have even been better than last year's defense.  The thing that many don't realize, is that during 2000-04, the one thing that AU was lacking was consistency on offense.  We allowed Fisher to score that many points because we couldnt keep our defense off the field.  Brady and his boys in 2004 were great and even scored a defensive td (which goes to prove my theory even more) but had little support from an inconsistent offense that was not going to march up and down the field.  If you look at last year's game, the 2nd half belonged to AU.  They marched up and down the field, taking precious time off the clock.  There was one series during which Fuentes had around 50 or 60 yds running himself (sorely missed).  On top of that, last year was Keeley's first full season.  He now has @ 20 games under his belt and knows how to manage a game like a seasoned veteran qb.
Anyways, is it wrong if i'm giddy for this game?  I'm making the trip up and cant wait.  All the banter makes it that much more enjoyable.  Keep it up.

Still in a bit of a shock as I get home.  Damn, this sucks.  Congrats to Alfred on beating the Bombers.  Some humility from SOME of their fans would be nice though.

Just getting on board having not read any previous posts since yesterday, so not sure what this "lack of humility" is in regard to. Saw two HUGE plays today that I believe determined the results.

FIRST, with IC driving late in first half with 17-14 lead, Medlock intercepts and returns to the red zone, setting up Keeley to Gibbins for a TD and giving Saxons a big lift and 21-17 lead going into halftime. (Against Hobart last week, Nitsche's pick and apparent TD would have given Saxons same lift, but it was ruled a fumble before he broke the plane.)

SECOND was, with Saxons up 28-17, IC gets pass reception inside the 2-yard-line where receiver lost the handle and fell out of bounds and somehow AU recovered at the 1. From my vantage point, I could not determine whether the ref made the right call....whether ball was still in bounds, etc. But an IC score then would have made it a whole new ball game.

With Cortland's OT loss to Rowan and apparently losing another great QB to injury(?), the Cortaca will be very interesting. Best of luck to the Bombers! Meanwhile, AU has no time to celebrate as a hungry and rested Cardinal squad will be at Merrill next week.

GREAT GAME SAXONS!!!   GO BOMBERS...BEAT CORTLAND!

kg said he was out,  i think aupepband agrees, but we still needed another score

Just curious to know why?

Its not like IC has a better shot at a pool C if SJF/IC end up with 2 losses....

fisheralum91

yeah- i though bec of the head to head that fisher would get in over IC anyway

wow - what a weekend.  Just got caught up on the board.  I skimmed some but I think I got the jist of it.

First off - congrats on a HUGE win for AU.  Pep, Kazoo, etc.  - Congrats fellas, you guys were cautiously optimistic going in and, as always, classy afterward.  We all have them, but its too bad guys like newschool and Kobie have to come out of the woodwork....but on the bright side, it looks like we lost Kobie as quickly as he came.

Onto Cortaca...but overall what a crazy few weeks of NY Football.  And what a mess to figure out at the end.

chris7sarge

An IC win this weekend would greatly help AU (if they win) correct?

JQV

I'm back from probation boys.  Turns out the polls are subject to editorial approval.  Who knew?  Anyway, lesson learned.  Sounds like I missed some newly found Alfred fans.

Congrats to PepBand, Kaz00 and '73.  Looks like you were right about Keeley all along.

Anyone know who IC plays this week?
