An IC win this weekend would greatly help AU (if they win) correct?

no more than it would help a 2 loss Fisher team if it came down to that....

But you gotta figure a 1 loss AU team with a win over IC and Fisher to close the year is in the driver seat in that scenario...right Booby?

boobyhasgameyo

well they have 2 losses already, so we would all have 2 losses.

JQV

Sorry, you're right, I was thinking in conference losses.  Good catch.

plus alot would also depend on the U of R  vs. Hobart game this weekend.  A win by the UR would in all likelyhood move U of R ahead of Hobart in rankings simultaneously taking away from Alfred's quality loss argument and helping out Fisher's quality wins.... Buttttt I don't honestly believe U of R will win, it could happen however

In that scenario though, Alfred would have the H2H over both Ithaca and Fisher.  Assuming that Hobart beats Rochester that would make both losses against playoff teams.  And Keith Mac made a point on Daily Dose that the committee looks more at how a team is currently playing and the number of wins against teams in the regional rankings for final selection criteria.  So, that would bode well for Alfred if they were able to work out a win on Saterday.

Actually the more I think about it.....

Union is the Springfield of the LL, with both teams getting the Pool A bid (because Springfield will definitely beat Norwich this weekend)

Hobart is the Fisher of the LL, one loss team that needs to win this weekend to assure a playoff birth.

U of R is the Alfred of the LL, a two loss team both to quality programs and must knock out Hobart to have a shot (infinitesimal as it may be) at making the playoffs.

The parallels are frightening....

Agreed Kazoo, but I was mentioning a scenario in which the U of R wins the game this weekend.

fisheralum91

good call booby.

It really is simple though...

A fisher win and they are in...

Take care of your own biz and dont get caught looking at the scoreboard

thats a good point, I think that is/would have been true for all of these teams.  Those runs at the end of the season would have/will look good for anyone who can make it through unscathed.  If AU wins this weekend, there is a lot to be said for momentum and such a tough stretch at the end of the year.

Booby,
I said this a couple times over the weekend, but since there are so many pages of posts I'll put it here again.  I have a feeling that the Hobart-Rochester and Alfred-Fisher games are really play-in games at this point.  I could be wrong and teams could be brought in from other regions, but if the East is as stong as we've all contended so far this season it would make sense that the winners of those games should get pool C bids.  As a Saxon fan, that's what I'm banking on, but I think wins by Hobart and Ithaca would greatly help our cause if we do win.

HATS OFF TO ALFRED FOR A BIG WIN OVER US, YOU CAME IN FIRED UP AND STAYED FIRED UP! WE WERE VERY FLAT AND MAYBE LOOKING FOWARD TO CORTACA A LITTLE,GOOD LUCK AND KICK SOME FISHER BUTT NEXT WEEK!

Thanks, flash83--sorry I didn't join you for a get well toast to Julio. Son advised me not to venture over to the IC stands as it might be "a trap."

Pictured in my mind AUPepBand, separated from bass drum and kazoo, gagged and held hostage in the snow-covered visitor stands at Merill Field until the game's completion. Just couldn't chance it.

Actually had considered visiting the IC stands pre-game to try to sell sno-kones as a Pep Band fund-raiser (?).

Bomber fans...a class act. Best of luck at Cortaca and the post-season.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!

Hey pep

I'll see ya this weekend.  Maybe i can find a kazoo or something.  Either way my students will notice when i have no voice on tues.

How do you guys think the AU receivers will stack up against the Fisher defensive backs?  I know Alfred has a good passing game who are their big play receivers this year?  I know Fisher is strong in the secondary with Stepnick, Miranto, and Norton.
