Yea but that was without Chris Sharpe, and I dont care what you think, you have to see this kid play you'll understand how good he is. I see SC going to atleast the second round.

Did he not just run for 7 TD's vs SJF?  I know how good he is....

He's good and all, but he doesnt play defense....

Do you think Fisher would be able to beat them if they got a second chance at them in the playoffs?

scgrad1999

SC's offense is averaging just over 35 points per game, there defense is allowing roughly 21 points per game. To me that sounds like a pretty solid team. Also seeing they play one of the toughest schedules in the region.

Depends on what Fisher D shows up....

That was helped out by the inept Brockport offense with their 3 points (ouch!), and the Utica team only scoring 7 -

Well SJF is averaging over 40pts a game and allowing just under 12....

Seriously they were on fire vs SJF, not taking anything away from them, but SJF had over 500yds of offense and scored 35 pts....95% of the time that wins you ball games.  I doubt SJF's coaching staff, w/ a full compliment of defensive players, allows SC to go crazy like that again.....

scgrad1999

thats all very true, but SC showed they could stop SJF atleast a few times, I dont know if SJF stopped SC more than once and that was because the backup FB fumbled. Also, what defensive players werent playing for SJF?

I think a Springfield rematch with either Union or Fisher would be rather entertaining, and would be worth the price of admission!

Fisher please refrain from talking about SC's D...we dont need to get into a convo about what team has the better D because both teams are good and Fisher had asolutely zero D against SC themselves...

SC only gives up about 21 points a game thats pretty solid when you're scoring close to forty..

The way I see it happening is that SC ends up with the 2nd seed and will play curry/coast guard 1st round and what im HOPING for is that they get either Hobart, Rowan, Cortland..someone who SC has not seen.

I think Hobart would be a formidable challenge obviously as they are the most balanced of those three i mentioned.

I'd love to get SC to play a defense like Rowan OR cortland because is stellar as those defenses are.  Their offenses are weak and I think SC would hold them to about 7 or 14 while throwing up close to 28 themelves.

Upstate please dont bring into the conversation about injuries either because you dont know who SC was missing either...it could have been a lot worse had SC had their stud fullback Andrew Jackson

P.S I WOULD NOT WANT SC TO SEE UNION AG AIN

Starting CB, FS and DT.....

Stepnick and Norton are difference makers on that D, they are disciplined players and the surest tacklers outside of Lang on that Defense....

They were missed greatly vs a running team that uses the veer....

Well not to be argumentative...but what exactly happened in the game that their "stud" fullback came back?  They lost....Springfield seemed better with the backup who I can't seem to remember the name of.

scgrad1999

first off he only played the first half he got injured again. second that was just a terrible game for SC all around.

Fan of D3 i completely agree with everything you just said. I'd also like to note that I would not want to see Alfred again if they manage a Pool C bid. Union and Alfred are both hot right now.

And I'll take the middle of both of you and say they will get to the second round and lose!

Agreed. Sharpe's legs can only take you so far into the playoffs without a defense.

Luckily, they (the committee) at least try to avoid conference rematches in the first round, and Union should be a high enough seed so that you won't play them in the first round, so at least in the 1st, you should be missing those teams.

I absolutely think Fisher would beat them in a second matchup. Ithaca showed them how to slow down that offense. Fisher's D won't get lit up like that again guaranteed.

1) Yes lets talk about defenses, SC sees a conventional offense each week and are constantly getting tons of yardage stacked up vs them.

2) SJF allows only 12pts a game and scores more on Offense than SC, so if SC's D is solid then SJF's D is great according to your logic

3) Yes, injuries are a concern and a legit argument when they are the caliber of players like Stepnik, Norton and Piz.  Thats three starters out facing a great defense, Im pretty sure they would of made an impact, especially Stepnick.....

4) You'll get bounced in the first round anyways like you have in the past 2 trips to the NCAA's.....
