Maxpower...I'm sorry, you're still wrong.

Because kevin cahill had a great game against ithaca does not make him a better quarterback than sharpe.  First off, no one would run circles around him.  This kid has set every offensive record that springfield has ever even had.  He's gonna rush for 500 more yards than cahill ever did in one season and about 15 more touchdowns.  Because SC lost to IC does not mean he is not their best qb and its silly for you to say so.  Is Tom BRady not NEw Englands best quarterback because he threw 4 picks the other night? give me a break.  I'm not going to use that field as an excuse but its hard to overlook it when talking about him not being able to make any cuts and falling down about 3 times.  Also, didnt Springfield use their 3rd fullback? Maybe that had something to do with the collisions.  Please, you sound silly and any SC fan or anyone else will tell you SHarpe is the superior quarterback.

How many receptions does he have this season? Is 0 the reception record?  (That is not as sarcastic as it seems).

Saying Kevin Cahill is the best SC Quarterback ever may not be true but it isn't silly.  I am not going back and reading where this debate started but I wonder if you even saw Cahill play?  He was amazing.  Also, he was bigger than Sharpe.   Clearly Sharpe is having a great year but I still think Cahill is the better player until Sharpe can do this next year.

man you make one post on the cortaca board and WHAMMO!  cstate where are yah over there?

I did indeed see cahill play and you're right he was a great quarterback, I would never try to say he wasnt.  However, you have to keep in mind this is Sharpes first full season player quarterback.....ever....anywhere.  He played six games last year and maybe half a dozen or so in high school.  To see that he has gotten this far in such a short amount of time is ridiculous when you consider Cahill was an option quarterback in high school.  And yes, I realize you need a type of running back to play option QB here but the way he does it hasnt been done like this for a while.  Not by Sylvia, or Cahill.

Anytime ANY SC posters want to be back me up I'm dangling out on a limb here so a little help would be nice.

also, no, the receptions record is not zero.  However, who needs receptions when you can score from anywhere on the field!!!  ???

WOW - is all I can say about that night.  Let's see if I can catch up here....what I got out of the night shfit was lots of NCAA qualifications, brockport girls are dirty, someone was a big meany, and jose was bad for defending himslef against jerks from Rowan.........I know a lot of this has been covered but.

ok sure,

what team at the bottom half of the E8 with a brightest future? Norwich Hartwick Utica? Also why is it the Empire 8 when there is only 7 teams?

Springfield and Norwich are football-only members of the Empire 8, a NY conference that in addition to Ithaca, Alfred, Utica, Fisher and Hartwick, includes non-football schools Elmira, RIT and Nazareth.....which should equal eight. Nevertheless, it may well go beyond the eight members....but no doubt will retain its name much as the "Big Ten" has despite its having 11 members.

The Empire 8 could have lots of Football members if..........

port - I for one would love to have you guys in for football....but beyond what has already been mentioned, Brockport's (and any other SUNY) ties to the SUNYAC make that very difficult too.  The E8's goal all along was to have consistent memebers for all sports, football is the most difficult but I can't see them taking any school that would play just football and then compete in another NY conference for every other sport.

change of subject:

does anyone see Mount Union not winning the National Championship again?

I think Mount is the team to beat until someone does anything consistently to say otherwise.  They are flat out on a different level.  I think UWWW had a shot before Beaver got hurt, he's a stud.  St Johns doesn't have the team they had in 03 this year, wesley is having a good year but still not on that level....Capital, UMHB, LAX already have showed that they aren't quite up there.  Mount will win again in my opinion.

I havent dared venture over to the LL boards yet. Those guys are nuts from what i've heard.

They're good guys over there....you probably won't get 90% of the jokes though.  I'd advise against the NJAC, they are pretty brutal unless you went to Rowan or maybe MSU.

Maxpower...I'm sorry, any springfield fan, player, or COACH would tell you he is the best qb to go through springfield in the last 10 years and then a lot more than that.  Not just his athletic ability, he makes the right reads 9 out of ten times and can break it from anywhere on the field.

I will concede on a lot of points but he is absolutely the best qb they have had.

You may know more on this than the rest of us....but Cahill was great.  I don't know if he was better than Sharpe, but it's not absurd to compare.....besides, didn't Sharpe break records held by Cahill, I would say that puts him close at least.

Saxon73

If someone looked at the statistics without a name attached, they would probably conclude that Sharpe is a RB not a QB.

Thats a good thing then because it means he's running the ball effectively

A person claiming to hold every offensive record.  Was that joke not obvious?

scgrad1999

I've seen all three Sharpe, Sylvia, and Cahill play. I dont know the exact numbers, but sharpe does have most of the records and there is still a game left in the season. The passing records were set  back in the 70's before Coach Delong came and implemented the triple option. Sharpe definitley is the best pure athlete the kid is also the captain of the lacrosse team as a junior, he is just flat out a blast to watch. With that said I think what he does next year will deciede who the "best" is.

I never said he wasn't going to be the best.  All I am saying is, it isn't "ridiculous" to say that Cahill is the best or a close second.

Whoa turbo, your going to say its hard to overlook the field but a team having 3 defensive starters out can't say that having them playing would make a difference?

This is my first post here on post pattern so I hope I do not overstep a boundary at all with what I say now or what I say ever.  So lets see how this all goes.

It is in a first hand account that I know of Kevin Cahill to be an excellent athlete.  It is great to hear that Chris Sharpe is a two sport star, but I believe i am right and you should check SC's archives because Cahill was one of their best pitchers on their baseball team, and he came form a high school, New York Mills, that when he played had about a 50/50 run to pass ratio.  Which he adpated to about a 98 to 2 run to pas ratio in college.  Cahill had a tremendous arm and his running style was different then sharpes.  Sharpe is more speed, Cahill as a QB could punish defenders.  He had more size and strength then that of Sharpe, but he did not have the speed of Sharpe either.  To say that Cahill is not even a close number two is just wrong, he was a very good QB.

Hope I did ok for a first post.

here is the one difference, SC didnt purposely put those SJF players out. IC purposely, from what i've been told, left the tarp off the field, and cut it short. Either way I understand thats the way the game goes but still that was a choice IC made, maybe not the best sportmanship, but hey they won right.
