If SJF or Springfield make it to the semifinals, does either team stand a chance at beating Mount Union??  I know they are an amazing team but Rowan did give them a pretty good game last season.  Can SJF or SC do the same against this years Mt. Union team?

Seems a little premature to speculate on this but, I would say any team that gets that deep into the playoffs is good enough to beat any other team.  Also, the East has proved to be much better this year than in year's past.  Surviving this Region would mean more than it had before.  I think it would also depends on the location of the game.  They are pretty tough to beat at home, but making them make a long trip from Ohio has to work to SJF or SC's advantage as well.

Under what circumstances would the game possibly not be at Mount?

I put that up as an option because I didn't bother to look to see how homefield advantage for the National Semifinals was determined.  I should have checked the FAQ but I am lazy.

EDIT:  I typed in the box but it didn't appear...sorry.  I said I am not sure how homefield is decided in the semis but I am too lazy too check the FAQs.

Aren't the semifinals in Salem too?

Now you got me looking stuff up Max:

In general, the higher seed hosts through to the national semifinals. If two equal seeds from different brackets meet in the national semifinals, the NCAA will determine who hosts. That is announced when the brackets are released.

That means neither SC nor Fisher could host Mount Union.

AUPepBand would say if Mount Union gets beat, they would not be hosting a semi-final game. But that's just conjecture on my part.

As for facilities. AUPepBand believes restrooms at Merrill Field are original restrooms, never rebuilt/replaced when new home bleachers and press box were installed. Concession stand is hit or miss depending upon which athletic team is running it. Some are disorganized, others do it well. AUPepBand doubts much will be changed with facilities unless AU gets a major donation. However, AUPepBand has suggested Merrill Field press box be painted purple, which was received favorably. Will make mention of need to upgrade restrooms as well.

With demolition of Davis Gym planned, AU needs a major donor to step to the plate to fund a field house w/indoor track, indoor tennis courts, basketball courts, fitness center, etc.

I was actually just thinking about how much I enjoy the urinal trough and how sad I was when they were replaced in Yankee Stadium.  If we do get new bathroom facilities we need to push for the continued support of the trough; it brings back fond memories of my childhood at Miche Stadium watching Army lose to everyone!

Oh, and I'm working on accumulating my fortune right now so that we can have the McClain annex at McLane Center established.  Though I'd make certain demands about what the annex facilites would include.  Right now I'm thinking a rock climbing wall, lazer tag arena and re-creating The Eliminator from American Gladiators...

The Urinal Trough at Merrill Field also creates a real sense of community. Nothing like everyone peeing in the same pot.

If equal seeds from the two brackets advance, the higher bracket hosts. This year they seeded North is 1, West is 2, South is 3 and East is 4.

So if the 1 seeds from the North and East advance the game is at Mount Union.
