The Truth 00

tags, the game will be close, you can count on that. and this goes back to what i said last week but the sc defense has improved throughout the year. they aren't great but they are coming around at the right time.

i've been gone for the last few days so did i miss anything?  (besides all the banter from the fisher fans saying how they have the best team in the country blah blah blah)

JU - you're right, vosbergh doesn't call the shots supposedly on who plays rb because of that "rotation"

Truth - I agree it will probably be close. And I am not going to knock your defense because in fact they are average, but nobody has stopped Fisher this year & it won't be Springfield.

Vosburgh does call the shots however. It's his program, he's built it and you better believe if he didn't sanction the split RB's it wouldn't be happening.

To be fair however, against Union Robinson got the bulk of the carries. I look for that trend to continue and probably become more so during the playoff run.

Edit: He got the bulk of the meaningful carries. Reile got 8-10 carries in the 4th.

Playoff Run, it may end this weekend!  Still not making a prediction though!  ;D ;)

Aaaaaaaand there's port.

pg04

Not a prediction, but a statement of something that may or may not be true!

Actually port, you don't even need to say it. Just thinking that Springfield will win is enough karma to spill over into the "pg04 predicts springfield" category. And we all know how picking against Fisher has worked out for you as of late  8)

pg04

I never said I think Springfield will win!  You cannot use that against me...yet...Maybe i'll slip up one way or the other by the end of the week lol.

The Truth 00

they will lose this weekend if he doesn't get the majority of the carries...and if he does, they could still lose.

superman, your back to back 200 yard games stat is interesting...but here's the thing: putting up 200 yards in a game is sick, so even if he goes for 150 the next week, its still pretty good. springfield is peaking right now, jackson is healthy (they won't see any calabrese/3rd string fb this week, and the halfbacks have been gettting into the act. i know fisher isn't getting much love on this poll but they will be one hell of an underdog to bet on this week.

and i haven't had a chance to say this yet but it felt good to see union take it...if you know what i mean.

Tags is right.  Vosburgh definately makes the final decision regarding the RB situation.  I think it has worked out great thus far this season.  Robbie is  well rested and Reile is a very nice change of pace for thier offense.
J. Utah, i think you are a little mistaken about the Fisher defense.  Speed is actually their strong suit.  Their LB's are smallish but very fast to the ball and the db's Stepnick, Norton, and Miranto can all run very well.  I will say D-Line is huge and not that quick.

I'm not sure Jackson is really that much better than Calebrese (sp?). I know you guys like him and all, but the other kid was a damn tough runner in the middle.

I believe sharpe will be held in check this game. I just do not see how a defense as good as Fisher can be taken for a ride twice after seeing a team eat their lunch already in the first meeting.

And by held in check I mean <125 yds with 1-2 TD's. Obviously he's too good on his home field to get much less than that.

If equal seeds from the two brackets advance, the higher bracket hosts. This year they seeded North is 1, West is 2, South is 3 and East is 4.

So if the 1 seeds from the North and East advance the game is at Mount Union.

Pat,

I was curious about why the committee sees the east as the weakest of the regions.  I feel the east is quite strong this season.  Better than the South in my opinion.  What do you think??

tags, no offense but calabrese isn't anything near what jackson is at full strength. that kid had the game of his life up at fisher.  jackson is a manbeast...he may be bigger than bill brasky.

sharpe is going for at least 175 if faggiano doesn't make some kind of major adjustment to force the ball to the perimeter. i'm actually thinking the key will be jackson this week. those linemen will be all over lang again but getting stepnick back is big for the defense. he fills the lane hard but all it takes for him is one bad hit and he's done. all of us who have played know the delicacies of the shoulder.

superman57

there was only one game where he had more than 100 after a 200 yard game and that was vs. Montclair

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I'm not Pat nor will I pretend to try to be a guru, However I think the South is ranked higher due to the "top-heaviness" of it....  Wesley, Mary-Hardin Baylor, and Hardin Simmons are all top 10 teams, while The east has no top 10 teams.  I know that they don't consider poll rankings but it's a way to show the comparison I'm trying to make.  Plus they sent the South's worst team to the East so that didn't help.
