pg04

I am just trying to forget last week now, both arguments annoyed me to be perfectly honest!

Well hindsight is 20/20 & I wouldn't have even gotten into it if i had it to do all over again.

But eh, done is done.

pg04

It's a discussion board, it happens, and something like it will probably happen this week if any other springfield posters ever show up.

pg, you saying i don't back up statements with facts...or you're just saying that to anyone in general?  i will say that having stepnick back is huge but its pretty hard to string out sharpe. he's gets vertical better than any qb that has ever run this offense...and thats saying a lot. the one thing stepnick will do is get downhill into the alley and smack you in the teeth. you can't compare the union rushing offense versus the sc rushing offense - they are 2 different animals.  #97 is who??  i don't think the sc line is looking at 6'0 265 and saying, "wow, this kid is good. he's gonna disrupt everything."  i will say this, coaching will be key this week. fisher lost the 1st time because they didn't make ANY adjustments on defense...none whatsoever. will they give some different looks, run an entirely new defense all together? i know vosbergh and faggiano didn't sleep well after that first loss. also, will they get in another shootout or control the clock? the best way to beat springfield is pound the ball and control the clock, keeping the sc offense off the field. sc needs to force a few turnovers like they did last time in order to win this game. they need to get after kramer too because he still looks a littly gimpy and ankle injuries don't just disappear. i think it will be close on saturday

Actually I think you are one of the better ones to state an opinion with some sort of reasoning or proof.  I was stating it just as a general rule, that I'm sure others would agree with as a general principle on here.

I think he was saying that to anyone in general.

And #97 will take up 2 linemen - You will see Lang making a lot more plays than you did last time because of it.

It will be much, much harder for Springfield to run like they did a few weeks back.

Agreed...Gosh I hope Fisher's Defense can't be that bad again.....

I typically dogg Vosburgh pretty hard but I bet he makes some good adjustments. Your offense isn't changing, so it's up to the defense, & I think to your point they didn't sleep well last time.

Things will be different this trip. And I'm not ignorant to the fact Sharpe will get his yards, because I'm positive he will. But Ithaca gave the blueprint as to how to shut down you guys, and Fisher's D is a little better than Ithaca.

With the right strategy, you should see a tremendous difference.

Superman, you're playing the nice guy role a lot lately... too many pg04's running around isn't good either you know :D

Talk at you guys later on...

Yeah, I need an archnemesis, such as the Rowan Posters had been at one point lol.    Good night Tags, I think...

tags, in case you didn't know....ithaca and fisher have run very similar schemes the last few years. ithaca doesn't have a blueprint for stopping the option either. fisher ran the same stuff they did in 04 and 05 and this year it didn't work. i will say that if #97 is as good as advertised, they will either a) run away from him b) have  faith that their line (one of the best and most underrated in the conference) can single block him or c) option off him. if he's going to provide relief for lang and co., i'm assuming he is a dt. sc should throw some midline at him to keep him honest. sc does/will have an all-american at LG who is pretty good.

i don't see the fisher d giving up 55 again...but it wouldn't surprise me to see a game in the 30's

If equal seeds from the two brackets advance, the higher bracket hosts. This year they seeded North is 1, West is 2, South is 3 and East is 4.

So if the 1 seeds from the North and East advance the game is at Mount Union.

Pat,

I was curious about why the committee sees the east as the weakest of the regions.  I feel the east is quite strong this season.  Better than the South in my opinion.  What do you think??

I'm not Pat nor will I pretend to try to be a guru, However I think the South is ranked higher due to the "top-heaviness" of it....  Wesley, Mary-Hardin Baylor, and Hardin Simmons are all top 10 teams, while The east has no top 10 teams.  I know that they don't consider poll rankings but it's a way to show the comparison I'm trying to make.  Plus they sent the South's worst team to the East so that didn't help.

It's actually just based on the No. 1 seed. Every bracket is set up as if the No. 1 seed advances.

hey guys- what is the health status of the Fisher WR corps?
Mariman (sp) got dinged in the 1st half ...

maxpower

So no Chris Sharpe or Mark Robinson for the Gagliardi... I can see Robinson not being nominated because I am a bit short- (east-) sighted when it comes to this stuff, but wasn't Sharpe breaking all kinds of records this year? Or was I right all along and he's not as good as Cahill??? Or is there something about the voting process I don't know?

fan of d3

I was wondering the same thing, it looks like it is dominated by seniors only, but how can u leave the leading scorer, and rusher off the list.  But no, you were not right all along about the cahill comment.  The kid has almost 2,000 yards in 12 games and if they play 2 more games he could reach 40 TD's.

Someone mentioned a page or two back that they are looking for SC posters, well there are a handful of us but everytime a new one signs on they are immediately dubbed a bandwagon fan. What gives? You ask for SC fans and when you get them they just get ragged on.
