so where exactly is fisher located? Is it close to oswego?

CK

Nope, it's located in Pittsford, just outside of Rochester.

fisheralum03

congrats to Fisher getting revenge for the 55-38 blasting last month. Fisher Vs Rowan. It should be a fabulous game next week in Pittsford, NY at high noon. Good luck to the Cardinals next week.

It was very nerve racking in the 4th quarter when Springfield cut the lead to 6 but Fisher found a way to hold on for the victory.
GO CARDS!!!

Congrats Cards on a great game....Clinched the E8 championship today!

Also congrats to the Pride.  Too bad we had to meet in the East Semis.

Just a few points about the game today....

Great game by the SJF D.  Held SC to 220yds of offense (way below their 400+ average) and also held Sharpe to 2.8yds per carry.  Amazing effort by the D and the coaching staff.

Great balance by the SJF O as well.  Cant have much more balance than having 170yds rushing and 178yds passing.  Robinson is a stud as always.  Had 24 carries 120yds and 3tds (giving him 7 so far in the postseason).

Mental mistakes have to be corrected.  Muffed punt and botched center/qb exchanges with inopportune hodling calls wont get it done vs Rowan next week.  Thankfully those can be corrected.

Hosting the "beast of the east" next week.  Should be a great game.  Is SJF's offense good enough to get past an amazing Rowan D?  I think so but im kinda partial.  I dont think the Rowan O has enough to hang with the SJF O.

Who's going to be there next week?

I hear ya...I played 92-96 and I played with alot of the guys who lost games to Cortland like 63-0 and 71-0 so I take alot of pride in our advances

Upstate:

I was particularly impressed by two aspects of St. John Fisher today.

First, Kramer played very well.  He's got a good arm, is mobile enough to move around in the pocket and is accurate throwing passes across the middle.  Hopefully Nowicki can come back against Rowan.  He's a nice weapon with his speed.

Second, the Cardinals clearly benefited from having Pysczynski and Stepnick in the lineup, which they did not against the Pride the first time.  Pysczynski did an excellent job jamming up the line and limiting Sharpe to a few yards on the runs up the middle.  Stepnick and Mitrano did a very good job making open field tackles on Walker and Broulliard to eliminate the option pitch as an, um, option.

The other point I take away is that to get deep in the playoffs (meaning out of your region), you have to be able to throw the ball.  Eventually someone is going to slow down your running game, you're going to be down and need to rally.  You just can't do that when you don't throw the ball at all.

I used to think Springfield would be okay if they stayed at home on the carpet.  But I've now seen Widener and SJF slow down that triple option in Springfield.

fish82-
I played soccer at fisher and went 1-19 my freshman year, and that was a success compared to the football team.....

Was a rough 4 years to watch- yet it looks great now!

fan of d3

congrats sjf....

I still have to disagree this was the REAL E8 championship as both teams are 1-1 but i woul dhave rather had this game obviously.  I think 2 key plays in the game.. SJF completing the pass to the 1 on 4th and 17? and the SC fumble on the one...reverse those two plays and SC is goin to the finals...but they're not. Congrats to all.
