Here is the Kaz00 East Region Final top 10 (not publicly endorsed by AUPB):

1.   St. John Fisher
2.   Wilkes
3.   Springfield
4.   Rowan
5.   Union
6.   Hobart
7.   Cortland
8.   Alfred
9.   Delaware Valley
10. Rochester

I honestly think that Rowan was probably the seventh best team in the east this year except that their experience and a few lucky breaks helped them along when it mattered most, but it's hard to knock a team that reaches the region finals.  Union and Hobart was a toss-up and I went with the regular season result as the tie-breaker.

My apologies to RPI, Ithaca and Montclair who are probably interchangeable with the bottom 3.
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

SJF gang.  Just a few things in regards to SJF running against Mount's D-line, and D in general.  As you have seen from the stats, NO ONE has run against Mount this year.  Their D-Line isn't huge by any standards, but they are the most active I have seen.

Mount plays a 4-2-5 defense, and just flies to the football.  To date, no one has been able to run the corners/outside.  I would guess the best possible way to attack them would be inside the tackles, but generally there is a D lineman and a linebacker making a tackle in the backfield before the RB can get going.  The team speed is something to behold.  They have a big time strong safety that is a ballhawk, great blitzer, and really brings the wood.

On the other side of the ball, NO ONE has been able to stop Mount's running game.  Kmic is one of the most amazing backs I have ever seen at D-III.  (And this is from a team that had Chuck Moore, and Dan Pugh).  He is not blazing fast, but fast enough.  He is not big, but big enough.  His best attribute may be his ability to make guys miss while keeping his speed up, therefore instead of a 6 or 7 yard gain, it's a 15-20 yard gain.  Mount's O-line is big, mobile, and nasty.

If you end up staying in Alliance, BW-3's, the Hood, and even the Bier Haus would be party places for you to hang.  If you want to get to where things are more mall-related, chain restaurants, etc.....head to Canton and the Belden Village area.  There is everything there, and it's about 25 minutes from Alliance.  Many, many hotels over that way.  Having driven the "Rochester run" myself for business on more than one occasion, you certainly can make the trip in one day.  As we all know, it depends on what kind of snow/drifting/mess is on 90 when you make the run.

We are excited to be playing a new team, and with the reported upcoming regular season battles on the horizon, this is a great way to kick off the new rivalry.

Wow that stings Kaz... F-ing U of R?  Hope the Bombers are reading this.  Especially sad that U of R is the only program listed in the top 10 that I can legitimately argue we had a better year than...

You obviously had to be there.  We didn't really have to push very hard as I remember it!

Is there visual evidence of your appearance?

fisheralum91

yes there is an ELKS club here in alliance

Thanks for the info on the Elks, how about a good place to eat Fri night???

Try Polinori's at 1441 South Liberty, about 10 minutes from campus.  It's not fancy (anything but) but the food is very good (try anything with pasta, or a great steak at a great price.)  And if you like a drink with dinner you can't beat their bartender.  330-821-2680.  They open at 4:00 and I would recommend reservations if you're going after 5:30.
