How do you think Stepnick will match up against Garcon this weekend? Stepnick is probably the best corner for Fisher and he might have to play the game of his life against MUC, for Fisher to have a chance.

I truly believe Stepnick can hang w/ Garcon. Garcon will get his catches guaranteed, every great receiver does. Here's something to think about - They'll put Miranto back to safety and put Turell at corner. This will allow Fisher to double Garcon w/ their two best coverage guys they have and still allow for a safety & the backers to focus on Kmic. I truly believe this will be our best shot at stopping them, and I happen to think it will work.

Tags...I completely agree that is the way to play Garcon and Kmic. I think they need to blanket Garcon and make someone else beat them. I think another way to slow them down is to use every single opportunity to be as physical as possible with MUC. Bump them at the line and such. Fisher needs to find a way to keep that offense off balance.
I trust that Fisher can score against any defense, but this defense seems to be the toughest Fisher will see all year. If the Fisher offense will be slowed down a bit, the Fisher D will have to make some plays and get off the field on 3rd downs.

God, I am so pumped for this game. GO CARDS...

one on one, stepnick cannot cover garcon - no shot. if he has help over the top, that's a different story. garcon is a stud.

cadetfan - you know very well that the ball craig caught (sorry i got him mixed up with garcon...you couldn't tell between 5 and 6 on the film) didn't go over the goalline. that was a horrendous call by that official. he was not at the 1/2 yard line either...more like the 1.

We'll score on them, just not as much as we're used to seeing, they'll be the best defensive team our boys have ever seen no doubt.

Our D will get scored on also - MUC is way too good to be shut down. I am confident enough to say we can hold them under 20 though.

The question is can we put up more than that???

before you sjf guys jump on me, i'm not taking anything away from stepnick. i think he's a great football player. athletically, while good, is not on the same level with garcon.

i'll be back later. its time to go ed reed on some people in flag football.

Fisher will double him w/ Stepnick & Miranto over the top - This will put a different spin on things b/c Stepnick is awful close to being good enough to cover Garcon 1 on 1 - but it's a moot point b/c they'll double all game with Miranto - Or at least that's what they should do. Vos & Co. will no doubt leave him 1 on 1  :P

The Truth 00

i've seen them both tags...and stepnick can't cover garcon one on one. i know this point may be negated with the help over the top but this kid is a true stud. trust me on this.

damnit, i had a fake signoff. you're rubbing off on me tags

Before you commit that safety to Garcon...you might just need him to stop Kmic.

I don't think it's worth the risk leaving Garcon in single coverage.
And before you commit to running Kmic all game, you might be forced to throw :o

Please, oh please give Garcon single coverage!  ;D

If somehow you manage to cover Garcon, and bottle up Kmic, who do you have left for Micheli, Smith, Antonucci, and Bohem?  Or Wray and Morring for that matter?

I think Stepnick on Garcon with someone to help out and leaving a safety to help stop the run will give Fisher the best chance...The D line could do a lot to help out as well, if they can get pressure on the quarterback.

Good luck on putting pressure on our QB...our Oline is very good!

Our defensive line is ok...I heard something about the O-lines of Union and SC as well. Obviously, you are MUC, and all your players are very good. Hence the reason I said they could help out...and what a bonus it would be to have them add pressure to slow down the passing game.
