GO FISHER!!!

forloveofthegame

My prediction for the MUC and Fisher game.......Fisher 24-MUC 21

Here's what I think......Stepnick may not be as fast as Garcon but he should be able to stay with him with some help from the safety(anyone know if Micah Norton will be in uniform?). Stepnick is a playmaker and has shown up for every big game since he's been to fisher. Besides Garcon, Kmic and Wray no other MUC player averages over two receptions a game.

With two defenders glued to Garcon that's leaves 9 others to stop Kmic and the rest of the running attack of MUC. It may sound a little crazy but Kmic and Garcon  have scored over half of the MUC td's this season. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the other RB's, maybe besides Wray, contributed with big leads when the game was already over. Think Hansen if you've watched Fisher.

Now for the gameplan......Fisher Needs to take care of the football....espeically in the first qtr. They do not need to get tricky at all....just maintain what they've been doing all year....feed Robby the ball and let Kramer pick apart the secondary when needed. MUC is outstanding in the 1st qtr scoring 226 points while only giving up 10. If fisher can win the toss and sustain a long drive and score I believe that will do wonders for their confidence....this is where I get 3 out of the 24 from....(ideal situation) Fisher will march down the field on their opening drive showing the power running attack they've had all year but the MUC defense will bend but not break......Fisher will be forced to kick a field goal of around 30 yards.(this is second best case scenario btw...best case would be a td)

Being able to score on their first possesion will show that MUC is human and just other outstanding d3 athletes and not Ohio State.

After being down 7-3 after the 1st qtr the game will go back and forth with fisher scoring a very late td to take a 24-17 lead.

Look for Robinson to have a ton of carries(30) but only around 100-120 yds. ....We need to keep MUC's offense off the field as much as possible.....I see one big run by Robby sealing the deal for Fisher.

If Kramer plays like he has all I can't see him making many mistakes.....he has done and I have total confidence he will continue to do what it is that has gotten him where he is.

If we can contain Garcon from making big plays and keep Kmic between the tackles(this is where he'll get to meet Gene Lang) I really think we should have an oppurtunity to win the game in the 4th qtr.

Lets go Fisher and best of luck MUC........both teams are in my prayers.

How does the Brockport thing happen. I have  a hard time buying into the computer thing...Ya think the kid could have said "hey coach...I don't have any classes...Oh, and I don't pay tuition either..."

SJF forefitted 6 games in 1995, they were 7-3 that year, but like Port ended up 1-9.  Not sure how it happened, but things like that do happen.....

You had to know Scooter Hendricks was going to provide an eligibility problem when he came to SJF for one final season after playing at Alfred.

The name Scooter just made me burst out laughing randomly...

It's my understanding that Scooter Hendrick was NOT the ineligible player for which St. John Fisher had to forfeit several of their games back in...1995(?). I believe Krumie Mabry and Audley "Scooter" Hendrick, who after starring at AU in a promising 6-3-1 season in 1994(?), defected to enroll at St. John Fisher near their Rochester "city life," were actually legitimate.

PG04:
Pat the Guru suggested that were a rivalry game between Fisher and Alfred established, they could play, not for the jug or cup, but for the "Hendricks Scooter."
I quote: PepBand, I read the first few sentences and thought you were going to propose "The Hendricks Scooter" as your traveling trophy for Alfred and St. John Fisher.

So AUPepBand's alma mater Morrisville, in its first year of DIII football, finishes with a 2-8 record rather than 1-9, thus finishing better than Brockport State, albeit in the books only.

AUPepBand is always quick to lay blame for mistakes on the PC...so far as I know, PCs aren't programmed to defend themselves....as of yet.

How do you think Stepnick will match up against Garcon this weekend? Stepnick is probably the best corner for Fisher and he might have to play the game of his life against MUC, for Fisher to have a chance.

I truly believe Stepnick can hang w/ Garcon. Garcon will get his catches guaranteed, every great receiver does. Here's something to think about - They'll put Miranto back to safety and put Turell at corner. This will allow Fisher to double Garcon w/ their two best coverage guys they have and still allow for a safety & the backers to focus on Kmic. I truly believe this will be our best shot at stopping them, and I happen to think it will work.

Before you commit that safety to Garcon...you might just need him to stop Kmic.

If somehow you manage to cover Garcon, and bottle up Kmic, who do you have left for Micheli, Smith, Antonucci, and Bohem?  Or Wray and Morring for that matter?

We all know who makes Mount Union who they are, and it's not the aforementioned.

Take solace in this belief, it will help you sleep until Saturday.  ;)

you can only have 5 eligible recivers on the field at a time...so all those guys can;t be on the field at the same time and the fact is when you do 4 wr sets a) you set yourself up for pics... B) you go aways from you bread and butter which is kmic

Four of these guys can be on the field at the same time as Kmic and Garcon in a spread or a pro set.  Mount Union is who they are because of coaching, execution, and depth.  These guys may not have the big numbers, but they can all burn you.

I don't believe that's what we were told at Catholic when SJF forfeited to us. But that was more than a decade ago now, so memories fade.

Micheli is the quarterback. I assume he's going to touch the ball.

For consistency, we will name the one computer in Brockport "Scooter"....

SJFF82

I played on the '95 team that you guys are talking about...thanks for opening up the wounds of a season gone sour.

The ineligible player was a 5th or 6th year O-Lineman (will remain nameless to protect the guilty) who had transferred from Hudson Valley.

In case anyone cares....he came to 'us' in '93 as an 'alleged' sophomore.  Apparently the entire coaching staff had been fired or had resigned from Hudson Valley from his 'Freshman' year and no one had a record or could verify his class status???  Anyway he came in, was a stud O-Lineman for 3 years.  We were 6-0 at one pt that year and ranked 4th in the East Region (back then the top 4 in each region went to the NCAA)  That was a team that was 4 years removed from a 2 Touchdown SEASON!!!

Then of course we lose to Brockport (one in the midst of 18 straight) on a last minute kick-off return by Billy Romasser and go on to lose two more to RPI and Buff State,

A year later I am in the crapper at work (after I graduated) and I am reading the sports section (Democrat and Chronicle for those who want all the details)  and I read that "SJF forfeits 6 wins" and finishes 1-9.  We got to keep our season ending win against Thiel because as I recall, the allegations were out going into our last game so we benched him

The rumor at the time was that the then Hartwick and RPI coaches collaborated in blowing us in.  They had attempted to rectruit him as well in prior years and knew of his number of playing years.  Our belief was that after we beat Hatrwick that year (for the 3rd staright year in a close game) on a game ending FG, that he just couldnt stand us anymore and stuck it to us.

NOW YOU KNOW.... THE REST OF THE STORY.....GOOD DAY!

Something similiar happened in the ODAC Conference this year too but I can't remember what it was, and they didn't forfeit any of the games.

A conerback played for Emory & Henry last year but flunked out of school.  He then enrolled at Guilford and didn't tell them he had played at E&H.  E&H Head Coach saw the player while watching film for an upcoming game.  He alerted the ODAC and Guilford.  Guilford was not punished and did not have to forfeit any games.
