There are 215 teams sitting at home. He won the east region championship and is in the semi finals. Dumb luck--i don't think so.

He's not the worst coach, never said that.

However, most of those 215 teams don't have the talent SJF has either to get through bad coaching decisions.

My question about Vosburgh is why did it take him so long to start winning? He has been the coach at Fisher for How long? All of the sudden the last 5 years they are a eastern power...I know they have new facilities and all that, but if he can win like this now, he should have at least been able to be a .500 coach before...

I completely agree with you.

Talent makes up for a lot of things.

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

I agree with that. And, I guess talent can make up for a lot, it just seems to me that if he can recruit like this he should have been able to find some sort of talent before the Bills and Growney.

Eh, you do have to have a team that is winning before you can lure the better kids to your program.

I still believe this team is more of a product of talent than coaching. How else do you explain some of the things that have gone on, and the team still wins.

One of the things Kehres has said was, "First start with talent."  I'm paraphasing. He's a great coach... one of the best, but he gets great players.  Don't let the aw shucks posters of the OAC fool you.

The facilities and the Bills were biggest draws when I chose SJF.  I went there on a visit before they got them and even though I liked the coaches I wasnt too thrilled with the facilities.  After I took a year off and then went to a JUCO school for 2 years I went back and fell in love with the place.  It was a choice between Port/Cortland/SJF and at the time Port and Cortland were very good, I was familiar with Coach V and the added facilities sealed it for me.

Imagine the kids they are going to get from around Western/Central NY with those facilities and the year that they are having this season.  This season should bring in another solid recruiting class.  One thing I did notice is that the roster has NO freshmen on it.  Thats a first in a while for SJF, before they were relegated to playing tons of freshmen...

He's been there i think 9 years and i believe he is something like  39 - 6. However  all coaches make bad decisions only seen after the fact. Hence the term Monday morning qb.To be throwing stones at a clearly honorable and competent coach and a decent man 3 days before the big game is really strange, to impugn his integrety is over the line.

He's been there since 91 I think.....

I do agree bashing Vos is totally unreal...

I think a JV team helps out a lot with Freshman being able to have freshman play but not have them on the field in crucial moments...plus a lot of those freshman that were forced to play are all juniors and seniors now...

I feel Fisher is getting to the point now where they can reload more than rebuild. Like an Ithaca, or, dare I say it, Rowan or MUC.
GO FISHER!!!

I am not trashing Coach V...I actually think he is one of the better guys around the Fisher campus...I am just wondering why he gets tons of talent now as opposed to 7 years ago.

Wizard, who questions his integrity? Please tell me.

We're talking about football, and coaching - not character & kindness... Chill out.
