You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

ok first spence is an idiot that not even Rowan Texan can beat.... second again Nate Kmic is the best running back I have ever seen....and Fisher still kept it close...but POOR Pieri...that blocked kick was the end of the game fisher's they just seemed so deflated after that.... thrid heard that the contract was offically signed....MUC coach said good teams deserve to play good teams and so what...so see you guys in 08....when you have to come to the REAL JUNGLE and growney and I think if we see a match up next year or even if fisher makes another run Growney could see the first ever sell out

I think Spence will be gone for a while.  Call it a hunch. :)

Superman-  Hope you're not implying Fisher's home stadium is a jungle like atmosphere.  Most of the time it sounds like a library, where a couple people stuck some cowbells in.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Tecmo as I have said multiple times...The fisher students were embaresed by the FDC in the game and have actually started to care about the games...seen by the excellanct turn out for the student section against MUC....they need some practice...but I've already heard talks of the student organizations and the Cardinal Crazies...working together to get everybody on the home side of the stadium white t-shirts for a giant white out....but we'll see

AUPepBand

Having sat in the Fisher stands during the Cardinals' 31-0 thumping of the "Beast of the East" Rowan, AUPepBand would dare suggest (who would have guessed?) that Fisher needs a pep band through which the fans can express themselves.

It was AUPepBand's observation that everyone in the stands wanted to make noise but sans cowbells (NCAA playoff regulations prohibiting "artificial noisemakers") and given that "cheerleaders" (with all due respect) are a misnomer, there was no coordinated effort.

While the AU Pep Band does not do it alone nor is it for everybody, when the Saxons are in a tight contest and "the spirit is moving," people join in the band's cheers and, in fact, "individuals, inspired," are moved to stand up and lead the crowd in cheers. AU fans are not averse to supporting and following the lead of said inspired individuals.

But maybe this is just an Alfred thing. Perhaps these things occur "only in Alfred," that out-of-the-way, backwoods town where the SUN comes out once a week.

spence, i can tell you what you want to know about the sc offense....but first and foremost, give the fisher team some credit. they represented the east very well and were in the game the whole day. for you to come in here and say they would finish 5th in the oac is disrespectful to their program, especially when they played you guys to the bitter end. but obviously from your karma rating, some people don't tend to agree with you at all.

as for sc offense, they run a true triple option attack....meaning they run absolutely nothing from the gun. their basic formation is a broken bone with their 2 halfbacks as "slots" or "wings" and they are aligned right off the offensive tackles. they will run some double tight end looks or single tight end looks with 1 wr. also, they will run some unbalanced with the TE and WR on the same side of the formation. they also go into twins and trips looks and will run the option out of any formation they show. they run the inside veer as their base play but also run the outside veer, midline, counter, and speed option as well. they pass at most 2-3 times per game if the offense is clicking. i hope this helps you somewhat. i don't feel like illustrating all of their formations. they are very effective at what they do but MUC probably doesn't face this kind of offense all year. they are one of the true diehard triple option teams left in all of college.

anyways, -k for being a complete dumbarse on this board when the rest of your fan base has shown a huge amount of respect for not only fisher football, but east region football in general. if you want to talk further about sc's option attack, you can send me a personal message. congrats to fisher on one hell of a season. you proved you could hang with the big dogs and that's something to be proud of.

Well, it was a great ride for Fisher and I think they can take a lot out of a loss to MUC. What a step in the right direction this season was...However, other posters are correct in saying next season has already started...

Who has What comming back for next year? I know Ithaca will be good as always...I am sure Fisher will have a strong team...I the Sharpe, the QB for SC, a junior or a senior this year?...How will Alfred look? Strong like the last 2 years?

Lots of questions to be answered over a long offseason...Any thoughts about next year out there?

Now that the 2006 season is history (well, for all but a couple of purple-clad teams), you ask whether Alfred will be strong again in 2007....

As for 2007, AUPepBand thinks you'll see another strong squad at Alfred. AU will no doubt bring in another class of 75 to 80 recruits. And Murray will give the freshmen a shot at starting--if they're good enough, they'll get a fair shot.

While everyone was quick to say AU's defense wasn't so nasty this year without Brenton Brady, there were a few others missing from the Saxon defensive lineup that AUPepBand believes also played a big part. Not a dig on the Saxon defenders by any means...AU played tough from start to finish. However, we saw with Fisher how missing three defensive starters can make a big difference (SC 55-38, SJF 27-21). With graduation of Brady, AU also saw hard-hitting DB Aaron Myers graduate (although he had another year of eligibility). Missing in 2006 but starting in 2005 were LB Blake Fuller and DB Ron Smith...both of whom may be returning for 2007. AU will miss Rantz, Gatto and Coupe, but should Smith and Fuller return, AUPepBand sees next year's Saxon defense as good as or better than 2006... Coach Murray will see to it.

Offensively, you'll see more of Keeley, Manzer, Gibbins, Bork, Hendrix, Newsome and others. AUPepBand would like to see the Saxons beef up its running game....seems like AU relied too much on Keeley's arm (a luxury) in 2006...AU needs more production from the run in order to better balance its attack. The running game was inconsistent in 2006, partly due to injuries (Fuentes, Hendrix). (Is there any truth to the rumor that Nate Kmic really wanted to major in ceramic engineering? Just kidding.)

AU will flip-flop its 2006 schedule for 2007. AUPepBand hopes the Saxons can once again position themselves so that their "playoffs" begin with Week 9 when they travel to Geneva, followed by trips to Ithaca in Week 10 and to St. John Fisher for Week 11. All three are easy 1.5 hour trips for AU Pep Band.

Now, as for the band in 2007: AU Pep Band needs to beef up its lower brass with a couple more trombones, bring in another solid trumpet and add some woodwinds. Rumor has it AUKaz00 will pick up his clarinet and begin practicing in the off-season so that he'll be playing first clarinet....leaving the first kazoo seat open for a newbie. The band could also utilize more percussion as we lose a couple of drummers to graduation.

I'm sorry I meant to post that yesterday and it would have been funnier, but better late than never
