I disagree to a certain extent.  I do think you are correct in your assumption that they will lose some recruits because they figure they cannot step in and play.  THOSE recruits usually wont help your program on the field until the 3rd or 4th year of their tenure anyways.  However, as a recruit, if you are told right off the bat that you will play next year, either you are unreal (which is normally not the case), you are getting fed a line of bull, or the school you are looking at isnt that good anyway, which in that case you might want to reevaluate your situation anyway (that cant be spelled right).  
The good recruits, those that CAN step in and play, should not need someone to tell them they can because they should already know.  Most great high school players that can immediately play at the next level already know in thier minds that they can play.  What's important to them is being part of a program that consistently win.  Who cares if you can immediately start on a team that sucks?

Being that Ithaca/Fisher every other year (next year) is the easiest game to get to for me...and my wife is an IC alum...(still sorry about that guys) I have to join the conversation here...

Why is it that as soon as one season ends, I immediatley wait to find out when next years Fisher/IC game is? I can't help it...Hell I even flew back from LA two years ago with the wife just to watch the game...That may be the best all year for me.
