I like that SC has both IC and SJF at home next year....bodes well for the pride.

AUPepBand looking forward to the Pride making the six+ hour trip to the Allegheny foothills in Saxonville in '07. The Alfred-Springfield game is an important match-up that is played in the shadows of the Fisher-IC clash.

e8 news & notes:

pep - couldn't agree with you more on this. only a few people remember when sc lost to au at merrill a few years ago. its in the beginning of the season too. however, that sc team had a horrendous qb in deptula and sharpe was playing hb...and sc lost by 1 point in overtime on a missed xp (go figure). i know the ic and fisher guys are up on their teams but these 2 teams can beat both of them.

super - you're usually pretty good with the football talk but rob kramer will NEVER be a gamebreaker. gamebreakers are guys that can break open a game anytime usually with their wheels - the e8 doesn't have too many but the top ones coming back are sharpe, sharpe, maybe reile, baez, and sharpe. if lindy crea is back he is a gamebreaker. hartwick sucks so much though that i don't want to bother looking at their site. kramer is a good qb but he should have a different moniker attached to his type of ability. speaking of kramer, i hope he works out over break. he needs to lay off the christmas cookies  because he was busting out of that uni down at SC.

fan of d3 - sc's first half of the season is brutal...5 games on the road to start off. the athletic director should be fired for that schedule of diarrhea. speaking of diarrhea (and yellow), i heard sc is picking up rowan next year.

fisher guys - although i think next year's team will be pretty damn good, i don't see them being as good as the 06 team unless the competition in the e8 and fellow ne conferences goes down. fisher has some great players returning but lang will not be replaced very easily. that kid was a stud and i'm glad to see him get the hell out of the e8. stepnick is back bolstering the secondary but you guys should check the status of norton for next year. i heard from a birdy that his injuries this year were so bad that his career could be close to over. yea its all hearsay but check it out. i need not mention #25...his accolades speak volumes.

bomber faithful - with that defense returning, its hard not to pick you guys as the frontrunners for the e8. you get fisher and alfred at home which is important but have to travel to sc for a tough homecoming contest. the thing that bothers me is the people doubting juvan. he was starting as a sophomore living in the shadows of felicetti. i bet in a few years, people will be talking about juvan and you may hardly hear of JF (ok, maybe not but you get my point. this kid could be good.)  he's young, has the physical tools, and can improve dramatically with the offseason. i wouldn't sleep on him just yet. his true test will come in butterfield against fisher in late september (or whenever that is).

what about utica, norwich or hartwick? ok here's what i say....utica's orange uniforms are awesome, norwich sucks and they still have dirty players, and hartwick should fold if boltus leaves. i feel bad for that poor coach. he seems like a good guy but he's gotta be recruiting his balls off to improve that team.

i'm out. sorry i've been in and out but i decided to start doing work again after the season ended. with that being said, i can't wait until next september because working at work sucks!

Truth- you know better than that. A quarterback doesn't need to have legs to be a gamebreaker. Kramer has the patience and decision making that will make him a game breaker down the stretch. He doesn't make stupid mistakes, and a full off season working with the receivers & ends will make him that much better. I look for an even bigger season from him since #25 isn't back there.

I'd say Paul Keely is a game breaker, and he's not a running QB. Sharpe is a gamebreaker, and he's not a throwing QB... I think it all boils down to what they're bringing to the table - I believe that all three are gamebreakers.

3) Kramer is the big question mark to me, not SOWB (Reille's new E8 Nation nickname).  He was very efficient this year but, how will he look without the threat of Robinson?  He could look the same, he could be Bruce Gradkowski.  We'll see.

+k for SOWB reference.

Also, I think Reile will have a 1,000 yd season next year, but we'll need Kramer to throw more often. Question mark is Reile's ability to pick up the blitz - Robinson was really great (and I think a lot of it went unnoticed) at picking up the blitz and buying Kramer more time... Reile was not good at doing that this year, and will need to improve his reads in order for Kramer to get a rhythm (sp) going.

Really don't think playing at Springfield will pose a problem to Fisher.  It doesn't have the prestige of a Butterfield.  Fisher beat them last year at their home place, and they beat them this year at their place in the playoffs no less.

Also I wouldn't be so quick to call Ithaca the "front runner" of the E8, although certainly they will be contenders as they are every single year.  In my opinion there isn't a clear front runner yet, so I don't want people to think I am biased.  I will say however I feel that Fisher will perform at the same level as this past year and I also don't think Springfield will duplicate their run.  Alfred I can never gage so I will just see how they play out and give them the benefit of the doubt early on, maybe they can be this upcoming season's version of Springfield?

no tags, i meant exactly what i said....i think kramer has the potential to be great but there's a different word to describe him, its just not "gamebreaker". look at him for crying out loud! he's steady, makes good decisions, has an above average hose.....i just can't say kramer and gamebreaker in the same sentence. i'm sorry but by no means am i knocking his ability as a qb.

boobs - i didn't say ithaca was a frontrunner but it'd be hard to dismiss them as a legit candidate. i think the e8 will be wide open next year but the big dogs to beat will be fisher because of the success they had at the end of this past season.

chairman of the board - give me your true thoughts on juvan. are you down on him? i didn't see him play much this year but from what i saw he's got the tools to be a good one.
