SJFCcards I agree with you that Ithaca has a nice traditional jersey but also remember that Ithaca has tradition, fisher needs the flashy uni's

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Then they should have gotten flashy unis, those are just ugly.  Maybe a better start would have been a helmet logo.  In my mind, it is hard to pull of the blank helmet unless you have been playing since before helmet logos existed.

no I love the logoless helmets...and I think that the fact is Fisher does not have a good enough logo to pull off a logo on the helmet unless you want to look like the Arizona Cardinals...and compared to many uni's I think the uni's look great...I mean come on they are stylish and the players are realy into them so that's important

Superman, you're saying the Fisher players are really into their helmets? Aren't they required to wear them?

Pep remembers when Fisher looked just like the San Francisco 49ers...but Pep thinks that was back when the 49ers were winning Super Bowls.

Can we assume the church digs were undamaged by the recent tornadoes?

We can assume that, yes. Pep called one of his Alfred Sun correspondents who happens to live on the southside of Deland. He reported that the Ground Hog Day tornado swept through the southern part...about 1.5 miles south of where he is located. The Day-After-Christmas Tornado, however, went through just a quarter mile south of the church digs. Pep and his Habitat crew will no doubt be the first group to use the church camp since fall, so there will be a lot of cleanup to do (there always is). But it's all good.

Pep enjoyed an outstanding banquet meal at McLane Center gym (heck, Pep was playing ball there only 14 hours earlier) as AU celebrated still another successful football season.
A few highlights:
--AU Dining Services went all out....excellent food, decor, with a couple of the attendants dressed as referees
--Highlight film outstanding! AU scored lots of TDs, opponents were shut out!
--Paul Keeley named MVP
--Jared Manzer named Offensive MVP
--Don Miller named Defensive MVP
--Pep Band played the AU fight song just prior to highlight film
A few lowlights:
--Pep Band singing the fight song (how in the heck can we have tone-challenged musicians?)
--Pep flagged by buffet attendants for "piling on"

Anybody follow the 'Cuse? Opinions about their recruiting class?

No clue - not much hope for them since they haven't fielded a team even remotely respectable since McNabb graduated.

I say Fisher should have stuck with what they had & created their own tradition. Who gets new style uni's b/c the shoulders on #'s 3 & 25 are worn out? Get new uni's but leave the same style.

Tags, I agree, the present uni's are real sharp-but you know how those young punks like change !!!

Update on Alfred's Julio Fuentes, who suffered a critical neck injury in the Saxons' opener Sept. 9, 2006:

Word is that he's still in rehab at Shepherd's Center in Atlanta, GA but is now out of the hospital and in an "apartment" setting there at the clinic. At present, he is on track in his rehab and is projected to complete his stay at Shepherd on March 9. Coach Murray spoke with Julio's mother on Saturday, who reported he "wasn't there" (in his apartment) as he was "visiting some girls upstairs."  ;)

Here's a clip about Shepherd Center:

I may have my orange blinders on....but I think they are on the right track.  It's still gonna take a while but I think we will see "success" this season.  I put that in quotes b/c there are varying degrees of success.

The QB who played some this past year will be a soph and can really play.  There are some stud receivers already in-house (two of Duke PG Greg Paulus' favorite targets from the State Champ team of a couple years ago).  I think the most help is needed on the line to give the QB some time and a sevicable running back.  Overall, I think this coming fall we will see Greg Robinson's plan coming out as he will now have more of his recruits in house.

That is great news Pep.  I think that is the same center where the basketball player from Cornell did his rehab.

The 'Cuse should not give up hope. If it can be done in East Piscattaway it can be done ANYWHERE!!!!
